Throughout UMA's Medical Assistant program, you have an opportunity to develop clinical procedure skills, such as EKG, pharmacology and minor surgeries. The courses also encompass essential knowledge like anatomy and physiology, human relations, and administrative and business skills specifically for medical offices. In addition, you learn important business functions that apply to medical office settings, including critical-thinking and problem-solving, written and oral communications, medical ethics and industry-relevant terminology. You conclude the program with an externship in a local healthcare facility, where you apply the knowledge and skills you learned during your Medical Assistant courses.

UMA's Medical Assistant curriculum consists of 42.5 semester credits and is offered at Ultimate Medical Academy’s Clearwater and Tampa campuses.
