Step 1: Apply for your Federal Student Aid PIN

Before you can submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) you need to apply for your PIN. This number is used each year to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your U.S. Department of Education records online. It serves both as an electronic signature and provides access to your personal records online.

If you are a new applicant and you or your parents do not have a federal PIN, be sure to apply for one at the www.pin.ed.gov before you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

If you have received a PIN previously but no longer have access to it, you may request a Duplicate PIN or change your PIN online.

Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Complete this application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please have a copy of your 2009 tax return when completing this application. In step 6 of the application, list Ultimate Medical Academy and the UMA code 035493.

Step 3: Complete the Information and Authorization Form

Your student finance planner will provide you with this document, this must be completed and submitted back to your planner to ensure timely processing of your financial aid. This document collects some of your personal information, references and treatment of credit balances.

Step 4: Complete your Entrance Interview

Students that borrow loans under the direct loans program are required to complete entrance interview before their loan proceeds can be released. You may complete the entrance interview online at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action

Step 5: Sign Your Master Promissory Note

To receive your loans from the federal government you will need to sign a master promissory note. You may electronically sign a master promissory note online by visiting https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action.

Last Step: Submit Requested Documentation to your Student Finance Planner

Keep in mind that once this step is completed, your financial assistance file may require additional documentation. If so, you will receive an e-mail from Financial Assistance Services office. Your file is not be complete until this requested information is reviewed and processed by our student finance office.
