Students in an associate degree program at UMA will take general education courses in English, mathematics, biology and social sciences, as well as elective courses in topics such as accounting, computers, psychology, patient relations and more. The graduation rate is calculated based on the cumulative results of UMA students who graduated between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. The actual length of the program will vary from normal time based on individual circumstances such as choosing to attend part time, failing or retaking a course or courses, changing programs, or choosing to take a greater than full-time course load. Since normal time includes weeks when students may not be attending classes, it also differs from the amount of instructional time, as further specified in the UMA catalog. The graduation rate is calculated using the formula provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
