If you’re eager to enter the healthcare field and can bring a calming presence to patients, you may want to consider a role as a phlebotomy technician — a role tasked with the management and administration of blood draws.

What is a phlebotomy technician?

Phlebotomy is the practice of piercing a vein and drawing blood from patients. Phlebotomy technicians are trained to perform this process with as little pain and discomfort for the patient as possible. They’re also trained to calm patients, handle blood, label blood, and transport it to a testing laboratory. In Ultimate Medical Academy’s Phlebotomy Technician program, your coursework will focus on the skills necessary for this important healthcare field.
