Med Learning Group wins two Telly Awards

Med Learning Group, a member of the UMA family of educational companies, has been awarded two 2015 Telly Awards. In its 36th year of competition, the Tellys are the premier awards honoring the finest film and video productions, educational programming, and outstanding local, regional and cable TV programs.

One of MLG’s awards is for an online activity that utilizes high definition 3D technology to strengthen the learning experience. In 2013, MLG began developing CME activities with 3D animations, providing the learner the opportunity to view a simulation of what is happening in the patient’s body from multiple viewpoints. These animations engage learners, facilitate comprehension, and stimulate recall. The second award is for an online activity focused on health literacy that launched in 2013. Structured like the popular CBS program 60 Minutes, MLG’s Treatment Minutes includes a panel of experts in health literacy, including a representative from AHRQ, who discuss the health literacy epidemic. Patient-physician vignettes interspersed throughout the program help learners apply health literacy management strategies to real-life situations.

There were more than 12,000 entries from around the world for the 2015 Tellys.
