In addition to a career-long commitment of serving the public interest, Mr. Friedman has extensive experience in nonprofit management. Since 1996, Mr. Friedman has served as managing attorney of Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA), a nonprofit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families in Philadelphia. At PLA, Mr. Friedman focuses on the administration of the organization. He also aids in the representation of clients with respect to matters involving family law, housing, bankruptcy and public benefits. Prior to his work with PLA, Mr. Friedman served as managing attorney for Community Legal Services of Philadelphia. Mr. Friedman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree from Wayne State University.
