I went to UMA because of my partner Tommy. I wanted to better my life for him and I. And I love caring for people. I learned so much that I didn't know about the medical field. I did struggle when I was going to UMA, meaning that I failed 2 of my my classes in the beginning of when I was going to UMA. I was going to quit but 2 of my teachers at UMA told me I can do this. And they where right I DID IT. So what I would tell anyone who goes to any type of school is: Do not give up YOU CAN DO IT.
Hi my name Dominique H. and attending UMA online for the first time was a good experience. I love it and I will refer everyone to this school.
I decided to go to UMA because I read all about it on the web and I had been looking into taking some online courses but of course at my age of 60, I didn't think I would be able to do the work but I do have a background in the management field, the hotel and motel and retail store experience. I worked in a hospital a ways back doing overnight shutdown of the computer systems and doing backup and printing information for different departments. That's when I decided to go back to school and I'm so excited I finished my first week with all good grades. It's great being a student at UMA, you definitely have many people who can help you in all areas related to your schooling. Yes I would tell people to come take a chance with UMA and I guarantee that you will love it as I do .I would tell anyone who considers UMA that you will be surprised at all the help you can get along the way.
My name is Rosetta and I am a 57 year old student from Washington, D.C.. I started attending Ultimate Medical Academy in August of 2015. I just wanted to say, what a GOD send UMA has been for me and the quality and curriculum of the school is fantastic. It has been a pleasure and joy learning from my instructors like Dr. Leticia Ramirez, Dr. Point-Johnson, Dr. Kandi S. Morehead, Dr. Krystal Turner, Ms. Shirika Holmes and others whose teaching skills can be described as excellent and outstanding. I have learned so much and feel truly prepared for whatever job or employment in the healthcare or medical field I wish to choose. I see a very bright future for myself, whereas before my life did not look so bright. I feel excited, motivated, and thrilled to have taken this educational journey with UMA and I also wanted to mention the Learners Services team especially, for people like Mr. Max Green who has been my "Rock," and given me so much support and encouragement in the time I have been here at UMA. I just want to thank everyone and I wish the upcoming graduates many blessings and success in their future endeavors! GOD Bless Ultimate Medical Academy forever and always! Rosetta A.
UMA has friendly, and beyond helpful staff. I graduated from UMA two years ago. Literally two weeks after I graduated, UMA's Career Services Advisors helped me receive my first job in my career field as a Pharmacy Technician. I've been in my field for 2 years and I love every moment of it. Still to this very day advisors check in with me to ensure that I still have a job and even offer more opportunities. How awesome is that?!
I highly reccommend this school to anyone.
I decided to attend UMA because I knew I wanted to go to college, but being a young mother of three kids, I had no idea how to start the process. I needed to start somewhere, and prove to myself that I could do it. I am very glad I chose UMA. I have gained new skills, all of which will help me to start a career now, and advance later. My ultimate goals are to continue my education and become an IBCLC and a midwife, and since I started classes with UMA, I was able to prove to myself that I can do whatever I put my mind to. If you are considering UMA, ask yourself why. What things do you want to accomplish, and what do you need in order to succeed? Chances are, you are like me and want to start a career of your own, while also having TONS of support throughout your journey. If that is correct, then UMA would be the perfect start to your road to success.
I graduated high school in 1979. That's before most of you were even born! While in high school I did what most kids did, went to work for McDonalds. I worked my way up the ladder to a Store Manager. But with such a rigorous schedule and a family at home all I could do was work.
After 21 years I then decided to change careers and go into banking to spend more time with my family. After 20 years of that and health issues I took time off. It was then I decided I wanted to go back to school. Was I afraid? Yes indeed! But with the support and family I decided to take the leap.
I scouted out schools, researched job needs, looked at the practicality of the job. After all the research UMA stood out as a superior choice. The pharmacy technician program is one of the best in the United States.
With that said I enrolled in school after being out of school for 30 + years.
Yes, the program is one of the most challenging programs they have. But I have dedicated myself to succeeding. UMA has learning labs with instructors that if you are not comprehending they walk you through step by step.
I am proud to say that I have made the Deans list, I am a straight A student and have been concentrating and concentrating to take my state boards.
UMA is the best decision for my future I could have made.
Hello, my name is Judith and I am from Knoxville, PA. I just moved to Westfield, PA. I have two boys, named Bentley Lee and Colton Connor. I got pregnant in high school and everyone said I wouldn't graduate but I did even though I had my first son, Bentley, on the day of my graduation. I got pregnant when I was going though college with Colton. I had him the 15th of July. I graduated high school and college while I was taking care of my kids. It was hard work but I didnt give up. I didnt give up because I promised my Uncle Rick before he passed away that I wouldn't give up. I also promised my kids not to give up either. It's time to make my kids' and my life better. I cant wait to start working for what I went to school for. I went for Medical Administrative Assistant. I cant wait to start my next course with UMA! I love UMA! Best school ever! 2016!
I graduated and had my first commencement from the first program of Medical Billing and Coding. I did it! Now I'm working on my Associate Degree and I know I will be successful. I hope that I will be able to attend that ceremony and walk proudly to receive my certificate.
Thanking God, who is first in my life. I stand here today just reflecting back on a year ago. Now this day I can say that I made it. Tomorrow I graduate. I believe that my best is yet to come. This day my best is here!
I was wondering if I should go back to school and then I thought about it. Then I thought that where I am now, I need to look into going back to school and when I was looking for another job, UMA called me. Then I talked to UMA and then decided to go back to school and better myself. I can not believe how well I am doing in the classes. See, I work a 40 hour work week, go to class online for work, am an Avon Rep, take care of the house, and am going to school online, plus I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. So I enjoy of doing what I am doing in my life. I am look toward the day I graduate from school and looking ahead in my new journey in the medical field.
I would recommend UMA to anyone that tells me they want to go back to school. I would let them know how supportive they are and helpful when you are in a situation financially or if you need help understanding your assignment. They also tend to reach out to you weekly to make sure you're sucessful in every way possible.
I decided to go to UMA to obtain my associate degree in healthcare management. All my life my parents have worked very hard to provide for me and my older brother. Growing up we lived in trailer houses, and we didn't have fancy things but my parents made sure we had what we needed. My parents struggled all my life and we sacrificed a lot in our childhood. Since I am a mother of three daughters of my own and a step son, I don't want my children to have to go through what me and my brother went through. For 14 years I have been raising my three daughters on my own. I have struggled and sacrificed so much for my children (and I would do it all over again). I have gone weeks without eating any food just so my children would have enough to eat and I have let my pride go for my children. I have begged to get my children the things that they needed (including food). Me and my husband have been together going on four years and married almost two years. We still struggle. My husband works two jobs to provide for us. So my decision to go to UMA is so my children no longer have to struggle or sacrifice anything. I want to give my children a good life that they deserve without having to struggle or sacrifice. I am so glad that I made this decision to go to UMA. I love being a student at UMA, and I would definitely tell people that UMA is an amazing school with awesome staff! I am proud to be a part of UMA. It was the best decision of my life. I have so much confidence since enrolling in this school. Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity!
Ultimate Medical Academy has brought talents and thoughts out of me that I didn't even know I had. All the people there that have helped, and other people that are willing to help have changed my life. I actually think I'm worth something now, and I'm not just someone who talks about it, I'm I doing it. I have something to look forward to now instead of more pain and disappointment. Thanks to all of you people there at the university, THANK YOU ALL!
I started at UMA December 8, 2014 for my diploma. I decided to continue my education to get my Associates Degree. I graduated this past May, and I have struggled to get someone to give me a chance in my field of study since my first graduation. Since graduating in May it took me 3 months to find my dream job as a Pharmacy Technician for Rite Aid. I was getting very discouraged that I wouldn't find a job and that the school wouldn't be behind me, they stayed with me through all the disappointment I was going through and now have my career. I want you all to know that you should never give up on your dreams and don't think for one minute that UMA will leave you hanging, they do and are always with you until you find yourself the career you are going to or went to school for. Thank you so much UMA for standing with me till I got my career, I will recommend the school to anybody that wants to get into the medical field.
I enjoy working in the healthcare field and I'm planning on furthering my education.
As a new student online and in healthcare, I've learned so much already by preparing to get started with my sincere conviction to grow, excel, and finish strong. Thank you UMA!
My story is a long one, so I'll give the short version.
I am the first one of my family to graduate from high school, which was in 2004. I enlisted in the Marine Corps during my senior year. Before I left, my little sister and my best friend left for a boot camp so they could get their GED. They were mistreated there, and I unlike a lot of enlisted, left and went to check on my sister and beat friend. I gave up my career for them.
In return, God has blessed me with two beautiful boys that are my whole world. Their father toughened me up, and has shaped me into the strong willed woman I am today.
I chose UMA, simply because it was a really good fit to me. I will be able to get my degree in a reasonable amount of time without having to spend a fortune. My degree will help me get a really good job and keep me out of the spotlight so I don't have to handle the fragile hearts of the public.
I am very proud of the choice I made in selecting UMA. I am confident enough to say that the education provided by this school was the best that I have ever experienced. Classes were fun and you can feel that you are actually learning the material. The staff and instructors at UMA helped a lot in my success but most importantly the commitment and the dedication you set does make a big difference in reaching my goals. I have graduated with high honors with a 4.0. I am very proud of myself for doing the medical billing and coding program. I actually miss doing school work and I want to continue my education with UMA. I love this school. If you are interested in a school I recommend Ultimate Medical Academy with your commitment and dedication it will make the difference in reaching your goals.
The reason that I chose UMA is because everyone that I spoke with made me feel like I mattered. They have been with me every step of the way. I'm so glad that I chose this school, reason being because my questions are answered you have people that coach you all the way and make sure that you're staying on track. Being an online student is the best for me because I can take my time and actually concentrate on my class and not be rushed. I interact better online then being in a class. I have told a few of my friends about this wonderful school! I enjoy and have enjoyed being a part of the UMA community!!!
Hell to everyone, I thank GOD for the strengh and mind to continue my education. I decided to attend UMA because I wanted to better my life for my family. Attending UMA was the best decision I ever could have made. I never thought at the age of 50, I would have gotten not one but two degrees in my field of study. Yes, I received my diploma in MAA as well. Being a student at UMA was the best feeling ever. I tried going in the class room but there were to many distractions, taking classes online was a peaceful tool for me. I will spread the great news about how AWESOME UMA, and their staff is.
I've never been so excited about attending school until I signed up with UMA. At 45 years old, and being out
of school for several years, I thought that classes would be hard. My very first course, I received an award!!! My first
class and I'm on the Dean's list!! Wow!! My graduation date is July 31, 2017 and I'm very excited. My granddaughters, Xaia and Payje, are my motivation. I love those girls with every breath I take and I'm doing this to provide a better life for them!!!!!! UMA rocks!!!
When I first started UMA Medical Billing and Coding classes, I thought it would just be something to pass the time and I would probably never finish. Well, I finished on Mother's Day, May 8th, with a 4.0 GPA. I will be 68 in two months and I am now finishing my third course for my Associate Degree. You are never too old to go back to school. If I can do it, you can too. You just have to have the mindset to want to achieve a goal and better yourself. The coaches and advisors, from Bianca who helped me register, Whitney, Mark, Genean, Ernest, and Luc who have encouraged me, have made all the tears and long nights worth achieving my goal. I am working in the pharmacy at Wal-Mart, and may go for my Pharmacy Tech certificate. Hold on to your dreams, no matter your age, YOU CAN DO IT! I did.
Hello my name is Dominique. I started my online classes back in January of 2016. Medical Administrative Assistance is what I'm studying. I've really enjoyed their help throughout the last couple months. I decided to go back to school because it was a dream of mine since I finished school to become or work in the medical field. When I finished school back in 2012 I took a long 4 year break which hurt me because I couldn't find a good job that I felt like being a part of, so my aunt called and gave me the heads up about UMA and from then on I took it and ran with it. God answered my prayers and I want to thank everyone who's been on this journey with me these last couple of months. UMA has really been there like a family member that calls and checks up on you every day. I really appreciate all they have done. They made me push myself to want more in life. I haven't finished yet. I want to come back after graduation in October and continue what I started. I did it for myself and not only me but my brother and sisters that are looking up to me. I want them to understand, "Nothing will come to you in life, you have to go get it on your own." Once again thank you to all the people I met in each class for all the support we gave to one another. You all are like family. I owe it all to UMA, that's why I'll finish strong! I would tell everyone to be a part of UMA because there's nothing like a school that wants to motivate you to start and finish strong. They really are just a phone call away. They will not turn you down, they answer every question you have.
I attended UMA because I really wanted to get into the clerical side of healthcare. For a few years while I attended local colleges off and on, I worked as a nursing aide with the elderly, the disabled, the mentally ill patients, and even children with brain injuries. It was rewarding work, but it was hard work. At the end of the day though, I felt like I had helped people. And even though my pay was low, I enjoyed working with all the people. I have met some amazing people on my journey! I was fascinated by the medical office workers. I wanted to know how to do what they did. So I attended UMA and graduated with an associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding in 2015. That was only part of my journey. Then I had to find somewhere to put my new skills to work. I went through so many interviews. I was always called, but my lack of actual medical office "experience" hurt me. I decided to force my way in by working my way in a position. I worked in a mental hospital in housekeeping for two months trying to put six months in to change departments and hopefully get in medical office. I did not even make enough to pay my bills. It was horrible! But I was at the end of my two months and I was tired all the time, and frustrated. I had even started to think that I had wasted my time going back to school. Then a major insurance company called me. I had previously interviewed with them while I was attending UMA. They wanted to know where I was with my degree and my training. I had then completed everything. I was not asked to interview again. I was offered a position as a benefits specialist and offered six dollars more than I was getting at the asylum. This has changed my family's comfort level drastically. I am so happy and I feel so blessed to have my new position. It is because of the wonderful training and support that I received at UMA that I got the tools to work with to achieve my goal. I am a big advocate for UMA. I tell people all the time that are interested in healthcare and are looking for a good school that it is one of the best. I loved every minute of my classes there and now I have a job I can be proud of. I went from dragging trash bags out that were bigger than me in the hot sun, to sitting in a beautiful office setting in a huge building. I am from a small town originally, but I moved to a bigger area when I graduated. The whole thing is still a little surreal to me. Thank you UMA! You are changing lives!
I am enjoying my journey here at UMA. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA the 1st and 2nd quarters. And I'm glad I chose UMA.
Hey my name is Dale A. I'm so ready to start my online classes at UMA. I am doing everything for my girls. I was not sure if I wanted to start online classes. I'd been looking around for an online school for months because I am a single mother with two girls. I work full time so I don't have time to go to school full time and work at night because I won't have anyone to watch my girls. I had called UMA to talk to this wonderful team that was very great in helping me to enroll and get back in school. I start July 18, 2016.
I had never attended college for a few reasons. 1- I knew my parents couldn't afford it and we didn't know anything about grants, scholarships and such. 2- I was interested in too many different career prospects and couldn't narrow it down so that money wasn't wasted. 3- I was sick of school by the time I graduated high school. I just needed a break. Well, life happened and I got married, had 2 children, and although I was mostly a stay at home mother and homemaker, I did have a few jobs along the way. The job that I enjoyed the most, however, was for a pediatric neurologist's office where I learned on-the-job about insurance filing and the whole claims process ON MY OWN. I had been away from the medical field for 10 years and received a call from UMA about starting an education with them online. I was hesitant because now I was 44 years old, and was I really going to go for a diploma in a profession I hadn't had anything to do with for 10 years? I decided to go for it very hesitantly. I was scared of the cost. I was scared I wouldn't be a good student. But here I am, 2 months from graduating and I have been an A student and two time Dean's List recipient. I KNEW I could have done better in high school. UMA has encouraged me the whole way. I have been glad that I made the decision to just go for it and get my diploma in Medical Office Billing and Coding. Now I'll be able to get a job anywhere because I'll have my certification!
My inspiration and courage to continue my education came into my life when I felt lost and end up asking myself what I wanted for myself. Then I understood that no one is more important than myself. So I stood up for myself and looked for information about schools on the internet. One day UMA contacted me to explain all the courses and since I knew I wanted to study medicine I knew what I was good at and enrolled in the Administrative Medical Assistant program. Now as an online student here at UMA I would say this is the best school I have ever attended. I have received the assistance I need. Everyone is been very helpful. I will always feel proud to have studied at UMA. Thank you UMA for making my dream come true I could not have done it without your help.
I decided to join Ultimate Medical Academy on a whim. I was contacted, and hesitant to answer, but I did. When I was told who was calling, I was very skeptical, seeing as how I have never been to college, and was not currently thinking about joining a college, where I was 7 months pregnant at the time. Now, here I am, a few weeks later, and finishing my first course. I am excited that I started school, even though I am going to have a challenge ahead of me, being a first time mother in two weeks, a student full time, and still working full time. It is very challenging to balance life at first while being a student, especially with a family on the way, and being out of school for 8-9 years, it's an adjustment. Online courses are not a piece of cake. Just like going to a campus class, every class will have its ups and downs, the challenging moments and the easy ones too. Just know you're not alone. The staff for UMA has been VERY helpful and has guided me so far. I am proud to say, I am excited to see the next step to take in furthering my education in the career field that I chose to support my family and myself.
I just started UMA May of 2016. The only reason I started is because my friend attends, and I had been looking for an online MEDICAL school. Online is most convenient for me momentarily. So far, it's awesome. Everyone I have met is absolutely wonderful. I recently just found out my older sister attends and she will be graduating October 2016. I'm excited! I graduate October 2017. Seems long, huh? I'm patient. I've been known to give up easily but as you can see...I have a beautiful 2 year old baby girl I have to strive for. And although times may get hard, this time I don't want to give up. I refuse. I'll do everything I can to get through this. I'm offering anyone to contact me on any social network, if you're in this program we can help each other, if you've completed the course, let me know how you completed, tips you have for me and I could use anyone's help. I need all the motivation I can get. Other than that, I'm excited I started, and I'm excited to finish with a bang!
I really enjoy going to this school and can't wait until I graduate.
Hello everyone, I decided to attend UMA online to further my education. Not only for myself, for my children and grandchildren. I always enjoyed working with others and taking care of others. I am excited about taking this journey at UMA.
I have struggled and gone through some really tough times in my life. I have 3 beautiful children that I care for alone. I have always tried to be the best provider for them that I can possibly be. I decided to attend UMA so that I would be able to apply for better job and get better pay. I recently completed the courses and graduated from the Medical Administrative Assistant Diploma Plan. I have used this to help me climb up in my current job and I am so happy that I made the decision to attend. I plan to go back and work on my Associate Degree in Health Science!!! Thank You UMA!
I had heard about UMA from 2 of my co-workers who are attending UMA and all I heard from them was nothing but good news. So I decided I would try and see for myself and see if the experience was as good as they keep raving about. I knew I wanted to go back to school, but I thought it would be for NA 2. I never dreamed at the age of 45 I would be embarking on a new career and be getting my associates degree. I am so thankful that God opened this door for me and I am so looking forward to graduating next year!!!!! This is my first experience as an online student and I love it. I have already told people about UMA and referred 2. I don't know what their decision is as of yet. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone!!!!!!! If I could tell anyone about this school I would definitely tell them to check it out and make that life changing decision , it will be so worth it!!!
This has been an awesome experience for me. Not only have I earned my diploma with a 4.0 GPA, I am currently getting ready to complete my Associates degree with a 4.0 GPA. At 54 years old, what an accomplishment for me! I have met many wonderful people from staff to students.
I would tell anyone considering UMA to jump in with both feet and do it! I would tell them to utilize all the resources available to them. Make friends and bounce ideas off of each other through discussions. It's fun!
This has been a wonderful and positive experience for me and my family. Without them I couldn't have done it.
I have been going to UMA for about 2 years online. I think the staff the and everyone that was on my team went above and beyond in helping me. Even when I didn't believe in myself they always did and push me to finish. I even quit one time because I didn't think I could do this and they still called me until I was encouraged to finish. And I thank them for that because now I am close to graduating in September. I now have courage to go out there and start working in my career I'm excited I feel good about myself. And I THANK UMA.
I graduated with an associate of Medical Administrative Assistant on August 2, 2015.
Hello everyone! I'm Sophia and I'm from St. Louis Missouri and I'm very determined to succeed at
my goal of graduating and earning big money. I have 6 grandchildren, all boys and one girl. All
my 3 children are grown and have their own little families. I'm so proud of each of them and Mom is
going to set an example that you're never too old to learn. I look forward to meeting everyone and
working with everyone as well. So lets do this y'all.
Hi, my name is Randa and I am a mother of 9 kids who has always been interested in the medical field since my early years growing up. My research on UMA after reviewing was something I became interested in although I am new and the best is yet to come. I am pleased with the tools and the support team they have here at UMA. I would also recommend to others to give UMA a shot if considering.
I worked for a magazine fulfillment house for 25 years until my job was eliminated Nov 2015.
My passion is to work in a medical office or hospital taking care of patients' needs.
I know what it is like to be afraid of going to the doctor, being in the hospital and not having anyone to keep me updated on my case.
The feeling that they don't hear me when I try to explain what is bothering me.
That panicking feeling that I will be forgotten in the hospital or exam room.
I don't want any patient coming into our practice to feel that way.
If I can't understand their needs , I will find someone to help me.
A person cannot be afraid to reach out for help.
I am the kind of person that offers my help when my own is caught up.
I have no expectation of rewards or even a thank you.
A person has to stay in the thinking that, the work must get done.
You cannot be afraid to reach out and offer your help.
We never really know what a person is going through that day.
I have two sons grown, married and with children.
I am very proud of the accomplishments they have made,
My oldest son 40 years old now owns his own business and my
younger son age 35 years old is an accomplished musician.
I have 3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters.
My family and friends are surprised I went to school.
One of my goals for doing this is to show my grandchildren that
you are never to old to do something with your life.
I appreciate all the help I have received so far from UMA
I hope to do you proud.
I want to say that UMA has been a wonderful experience. I graduated from the diploma program from the Medical Administrative Assistant in March 2016. I have returned to get my Associates Degree and I will walk again at graduation in March 2017. I have completed school while i was battling LUPUS. UMA staff stood by me the whole time. They reached out to me just like a family would do. Most schools don't stay in tune with their students and that's why most of them drop out. My experience at UMA has been a wonderful one, I tell all friends and family about UMA every chance I get. When I was having to be absent due to lengthy hospital stays, they understood. I'm super excited about taking the walk again. This time last year when I was setting up to get enrolled to UMA I wasn't walking or able to use my hands very well. I pushed through the battle and with the help of UMA staff I am here today telling everyone UMA is the place to be.
I would like to say thank you UMA for allowing me accomplish my dream of going back to school. As I am older now and have always wanted to go to college and you have helped me make that come true. I have only been in school since January 2016 and I am maintaining a GPA of 4.0 even with work and home...I cant wait 'til I get my first job as a social worker.
After a year of working a tour with a reputable company and being overlooked due to inexperience in other aspects of the job, I searched and found an accredited medical online program that fit my need. Ultimate Medical Academy for billing and coding was exactly what I wanted. My journey began in July of 2015. As a student I was treated with great respect, the advisors, teachers, and office personnel were all excited with me on my journey and encouraged me every step of the way, outstanding staff. I was even acknowledged by the online Dean's List. I graduated with a diploma and honors on the 9th of May, I will begin classes for my Associates on the 23rd of May. It has been a wonderful experience and I look for it to only get better as I strive for my Masters and Certification. I recommend UMA to anyone who is looking for a career in the medical field, this program is compacted with the latest in medical technology with the every changing ICD-10-CM and CPT codes. They have a great finance team that will walk with you every step of the way, a very caring staff and so much more. Try them today you will not be disappointed !
UMA is the best school so far. They have an excellent staff. The resources that UMA provides its student with are excellent if you would like to go back to school UMA is the way to go.
It was a long and hard journey for me when it came to furthering my education here at UMA. I was a wreck and had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. I had a boyfriend and no kids, 30 years old and oblivious to my future and what was in store for me. I decided to enroll myself in school at Ultimate Medical Academy in 2014 to get a certification in medical administrative assisting. I thought that by putting myself in school I would be on my way to finding myself. As school began, I started learning new things about the medical field as well as myself. I learned that I enjoy learning new things and that I love sharing what I've learned with others. I have to say that learning how to balance my time and priorities was the hardest thing I had to do as life can bring about changes that you may not have control over. I went through a lot of trials that made me feel like giving up but knowing that if I did give up I would be letting myself down as well as my future family. Today I am a graduate and I owe that to myself. I stuck with it through to the end and I have never been more proud of me. I went from high school graduate to a diploma in medical administrative assisting to a graduate with an associates degree in Medical Administrative Assistant. Never stop believing in yourself, anything is possible as long as you keep trying. There is a saying that is on my fridge, the only place you can find success before work is in the dictionary. I can't wait for graduation in September as I will be celebrating my graduation and my 31st birthday! UMA has been such a great school and has brought me to a place I have dreamed about my whole life. So, If you just got here I just want to welcome you to your future and Congrats on making the first step. I know your gonna do great!
Allow this school to help you that's what they are here for. I got my first job one month after graduating with my diploma at a therapist office. Its been a year now and I am still here going strong! Take the help that's offered and watch how far you go. The best staff hands down. I love this school.
I'm a native American Indian from Oklahoma and I really love these online classes. Attending these classes online has really made me motivated to keep my head up and keep pushing myself to graduate. I have learned a lot from my classes and am thankful for my instructors, they are very amazing. If it wasn't for them keeping us updated I would have lost track. I came to UMA online classes to better my career, I feel really motivated and kept telling myself I'm going to do it. Now look at me I'm here and very happy about myself, my grades and for where I am today and what I've learned. It feels so good to be a student at UMA. I would let people know UMA is a good place to be for a higher education and how excellent UMA staff is as well as very professional. Being in online classes is all on my own time and our own scheduling. Going to work in online classes is more convenient for my hours. UMA would be a school I would refer a lot of people to. Thank you to all my UMA staff and instructors for the help you have all been giving me. Thank you, Luggie
I decided to attend this school because at the time it was needed so when my mind was made up to go back I went online to search for a school and this was the first one to pop up on my screen. So once I got to know everything about it I gave it a go and now I love it.
Hello my UMA alumni! Being at UMA has changed me for the better! This is my second time around and I am glad I didn't give up on my dreams! Withdrawing from UMA was my downfall but I picked myself up and came back! The staff at UMA is very supportive and encouraging, whenever I have questions and concerns they're always there! My instructor is great also! I would recommend this school to anyone!
As of this day I have NEVER BEEN MORE PROUD OF MYSELF!! I made the DEANS LIST, on completion of the fourth quarter of my 2nd to last course ME2400, Pathophysiology, pharmacology, and medical coding.
Hello my name is Regina. I'm so excited that I decided to continue my education with Ultimate Medical Academy. From admissions, to meeting an advisor, and financial aid, my experience has been awesome. Everyone has worked really hard to get me through all the necessary channels to help me get back into school. They also did a wonderful job encouraging me and keeping me motivated during the process. I thank you all for your support.
The healthcare field has been a passion of mine since I was young girl taking care of my Grandmother. As I grew up I always knew I wanted to do something that made a difference and have put it to practice over the years as a caregiver for Cardiac, Stroke, Dementia and Cancer victims. When I developed health problems that made it difficult to do physical activities and I could no longer do the things that I used to, I decided to go back to school and UMA gave me the opportunity to not only go to school, but to get a degree in the field I still had a passion for. I graduate April 17, 2016 with a diploma as an MAA and on April 18 I start classes for my Associates Degree. Thank you UMA for making it possible for me to fulfill a lifelong dream. The Advisors, Teachers and classes are awesome and I would like to give special recognition to my career advisor, Chris M., who has been an inspiration and mentor for me while stepping into my new career field. Thank you all so much!
UMA was the best thing I could do to better my children and my life. When I thought was about to give up, my student advisor reminded me why I attended UMA and believed in me. Thank you everyone at UMA.
I attended Ultimate Medical Academy for Medical & Clinical Laboratory Assistant. I began my journey in April 2014 and I graduated in May 2015, despite many challenges I had faced during my journey. The staff at UMA Tampa helped me through everything I went through and I was able to finish on time and had a wonderful experience throughout my time there. I would highly recommend this school if you are looking for great support, great staff, and excellent medical education at a quicker pace.
I must say that this is the best school by far. I had lost all hope and just had given up on life and one phone call with an Admissions Representative changed my life. It was just an ear full of motivation and encouragement that just made me come alive and believe in myself again and that day I made up in mind that I wanted to further my education with Ultimate Medical Academy. They actually showed that they were concerned with the calls, the e-mails, the long encouraging conversations, just everything about this school gave me life and helped me every step of the way. I encourage anyone to attend this school.
I had moved to another state and was unable to find a job. A neighbor of mine was taking online classes with UMA and told me about them. I talked it over with my fiance and his mom and they said to go for it. I am 52 years old and the idea of going back to school scared me to death. But I got the courage up called and talked with Tony and the next thing you know I am in school. I gave 100% plus to my studies. Whenever I was feeling stressed or overwhelmed I would talk to my future mother in law. She always gave me the encouragement that I needed and I would turn around and get back in my room and study. I had a wonderful lady at UMA named Ann Marie who would call and check on me all the time and she always gave me words of praise and encouragement. She would tell me how great I was doing, ask if there was anything she could do to help me. She was wonderful, it was like she was my guardian angel. I had my family and friends in my hometown of Texas cheering me on, my grandchildren just thought it was the neatest thing. They would say, "If Nana can do this we can too." My oldest grandson actually started doing better in school ( I challenged him) When I graduated my GPA was a 4.0 and I had made the Dean's List on 2 different occasions. The only thing that I was sad about was that my dad was not here to see me graduate, he passed away in October 2010, but I know that he was looking down at me smiling telling me how proud of me he is. Thank you UMA for helping me to become a better person so that I can make a difference in this world out here. You are the greatest!!!!
This has truly been a journey for me and believe me, it was not easy. I have dealt with a lot of obstacles on the way. My health was an issue from the very beginning and thanks to the wonderful staff at UMA working with me, I was able to push through! A year into my program I was dealt a devastating blow that my youngest daughter was not only diagnosed with Epilepsy but, would have to face multiple surgeries to correct issues that would affect her walking. I had to take a 6 month leave of absence from school in order to take care of her. Things went from bad to worse when my Mom had a life changing accident on New Years Eve and again, I found myself overwhelmed and ready to throw my hands in the air and give up but, Frank my Student Advisor, assured me that it was going to be ok and that I had the full support of the school behind me to help me push through, I thought the worst was over but, again in February on the first week of my final class, we found my Mother-In-Law deceased in her home and the whirlwind of emotions started all over again. During the last few weeks, I had to deal with trying not only to finish school but, I had to deal with the aftermath of her death. During that time I had to ask for an extension on some of my assignments, which I only had to use once but, I had the assurance that it was there if I needed it! I pushed through to the end and finally made it. Not only did I finish but, I was able to keep my 4.0 GPA which earned me High Honors at graduation. When I got to graduation, I felt like a SUPERSTAR, every single graduate was made to feel like a celebrity and I loved every minute of it! I said all of that to say this... When you feel as though you can't do it just know that you can!! Believe me, if I can do it while facing all of the adversity I had to face during my time here at UMA, YOU CAN TOO!!! Stay focused and use the support system that UMA provides, they are here to help you and make you successful. Keep pushing through and never lose sight of the end goal, GRADUATION and being treated like a CELEBRITY ON THE RED CARPET!! You can do this, we as Alumni and the staff at UMA are standing behind you cheering you on!! Good luck, you got this!
I'm sorry to say, I couldn't make it this Graduation. I thought about my fellow classmates, and my prayers go out to each and every one at UMA that God will be your guidenace and the path of faith, love, and hope. To a better future and career. My mangers where I work knew I couldn't make it to my graduation and they bought me some flowers and a cake. Chocolate cake. I though of dropping out so many times but my son, who looks up me, has already found his college, rather university, Full Sail University, which is in Tampa, Fl. "Cause of you mom, if you can do it, so can I." So why could I quit. I put in long hours between working 2 jobs and school. I have to say it was worth it all. Now I'm pounding the pavement so to speak to find that job that will help to accomplish the goals that I work so long and hard for. Thank you staff and teachers for this education and fun learning experience. I'm still going and will not quit. God bless you all.
So far I've been in classes 5 weeks and I love it. They make it super simple to ask if we need help and no matter how many times we need help they wont judge. I absolutely would recommend this school to many people it is a great school.
It's been a beautiful run-through, this course for me. Now I'm at the end of the road with my last courses coming up. I start my new class Monday morning in Coding 1 course. After this course is over I will be taking up my last course and I will be finished. I love it and I am thanking the Lord for blessing me to make it this far. I hope after finishing up and receiving my certified diploma I have a job in the medical field.
It was a great experience for me and I would love to attend UMA again.
I'm so ready and glad I chose UMA. Speaking with admissions and the team of workers have given me away of changing myself and I feel really good about myself. I have more confidence in myself. I'm going to do my classes and become somebody. I'm so ready and have my heart in it. I'm committed to finishing my classes and have an Associate degree and be a graduate.
I can say that being at Ultimate Medical Academy was a great experience. There where times when I was discouraged but I never gave up because I had people that cared and and always gave me encouraging words of wisdom. I decided to go to UMA to better myself for my son and trying to be the best role model and mother that I can be to him. I want him to know and see that you can do anything you wanna do in this world and can't no one or nobody stop you all you have to do is JUST DO IT !!!!
I decided to attend UMA to better my career goals. For 35 years I worked as a Certified Nurse Aide, 6 years as a Secretary, 2 years as a House Parent and several years as a Tax Accountant. Now that my college studies are over, I sit back and think what and how I got started. Now that I have completed online college I graduated with a 3.4 average "B" I am truly happy and overwhelmed with success. I truly thank my student adviser Mark Johnson and all of my class Instructors for being so patient and gave me all the support I needed to complete this goal. It truly wasn't easy for me, but I can now say I made it and I'm so very proud of myself for choosing the right decision to return back to college. Thank you UMA.
I chose UMA Online because it was perfect for me. Being able to work well into the night or early morning is a big plus for me as I take care of four of my school age grands. It's a hustle and bustle in the morning and evenings, but later in the evening and at night I am able to fully concentrate on reading, note taking, recording and application. I have found the staff to be genuinely courteous and interested in your success, I love it.
I am 36 years old and am a mother of 5. I am so glad I chose this school. I wasn't sure about what I wanted to with myself. I had thoughts of going to back school, I was tired of working a dead-end job, I knew it was time to get it together. UMA has taught me so many things, not just with my career course, but how to help better myself in my personal life. I just want to say thank you to the entire staff. This was the best decision I made for myself and my family.
I decided to become an online student at UMA in 2015 because it fit into my busy work schedule. It's really been fantastic and I love it here at UMA. As a student I would recommend UMA Online. The instructors are awesome and everyone helps with whatever you need pertaining to your Online classes. I am a 4.0 student on the DEANS List. The course work is laid out for you and is easy to read and comprehend. I graduate in June of 2016.
Here is my story. I am a 43 year old single mother of three children. They are 25, 17 and 15, with three grandchildren. I have struggled for many years trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. With 25 plus years of retail experience and 2 years experience as a CNA, I knew I wanted to work in the health care field. Well it took my daughter, a two time graduate from UMA, to show me that it can be done. She has three young children and works full time, so if she can do it so can I. So I made the call to UMA, and now I have a 4.0 average. I work two full time jobs, and submit all my discussions, assignments and tests on time. I am so glad that I made the call, the instructors, administration, advisors and other faculty are awesome. Anyone wanting to continue their education in the healthcare field, UMA is the best.
The reason I decided to go with UMA was because I wanted to work in the medical field. Yes I am glad I picked UMA, because I love UMA. What it is like to be a student? It feels like high school which I missed and loved. I love being a student. What would I tell people about UMA? I would say it's an amazing school with really nice teachers and students. You should go try it out.
I've absolutely loved everything about this school since the day I started!
I am a single mother of two beautiful babies! I'm trying to get through my schooling to provide a better life not only for myself but for them as well! It is time for a change and now is as good a time as ever! So that being said I am really excited to expand my horizon and further my education! Let us begin this journey together!
I decided to go to UMA because I wanted to get a degree online and on my own time. I am 100% happy that I attended UMA, this school never once gave me a hassle. Before I was a student at UMA they gave me the support and motivation I needed to attend. They helped me with feeling comfortable about my decision to go back to school, they contacted me all the time to make sure I was coping with everything. When I attended school, the assignments are self-explanatory, if you have questions the teachers are always there, also they have plenty of resources to use to study for your course work. They also have a mobile app that I did almost all my discussion post on. I graduated in August 2015 and they still help me look for employment, and they still are working with me to finish my certification. I recommend this school to everyone who is wanting to start a career in the health field. I have never spoke so highly of a school, and trust me I tried 5 or more! They are the only school who stuck to their word, and made sure that going to school was not a nightmare, but a dream come true. Thank you UMA for all the support, effort, and commitment you make to me and all your students!
My review of Ultimate Medical Academy is that it is unlike any other. They will work with you from day one to make sure you are getting the proper information needed. The instructor is there whenever you need them. This online school is just great, they even work with you in times of trouble and if you're not focused. You just reach out. I hope this helps someone.
Hello, when I first started UMA online school, I was very nervous and unsure about the program. I have started many online schools before but haven’t finished. At first, I thought it would be like other online schools were you’re lost half of the time and never know what’s going on. I realized my first week with UMA that they were very different, they’re very supportive and helpful. The classes helped me to quickly realize that I can do it and I will finish. I am far more interested in studying; I really enjoy it much more. I think that for many students it takes quite some time to realize what you want to do but if there is a program that UMA offers that you are interested in I think you should go for it. UMA was the best decision that I have made for my daughter and I. I would recommend UMA to anyone that I know who is looking at online schools.
UMA is one of the best schools I have ever attended. I was excited once I knew I was accepted to this school. I'm looking forward to graduating from the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program in 2016. I have always wanted to be on the Dean's List and I'm passing my classes with all A's. My son is my biggest motivation and he knows that mommy is making her way to the top! This is the best decision I have ever made!
Hello, I am a single mother than just turned 50. So I decided to finally do something for myself. My whole adult life, I did for others: My son, my mother, enjoyed every bit of it, but children grow up and parents pass on. So I came to a time in my life that I didn't have anyone else to help but myself. So I did that, I am making better grades now than I did in high school and I am enjoying myself so much with my studies. Thanks UMA for the experience you have given me.
I love this school the courses are excellent.
The best thing I have ever done for myself is continuing my education with UMA. You will find professionalism from all UMA staff and help is readily available if needed. The Instructors have been very helpful with any questions and concerns. The Student Advisors are great in helping you resolve any issues you may have. I looked at many different schools, after speaking with with the enrollment department at UMA, I knew this was the school for me. Thank you UMA for everything!
I really love this school. Back in 2014 I started in the medical administrative assistant program and it wasn't what I wanted so on Monday if started the health information technology associates degree and I think this is what I want to do my mom graduated here as a medical administrative assistant and my dad is a captain of a sheriff's department I feel like it's a family their albumways their to help thank you UMA.
I decided to attend UMA because I was stick of my dead end job. I was a manager at Burger King when I enrolled. I knew that wasn't the career I wanted. I have an (almost) 2 year old daughter who deserves the world. I couldn't give her that while working at Burger King. So, I enrolled in UMA so I could better myself and my daughter's life. I would have much rather gone to an actual campus but I'm thankful for the online option. It works with my crazy schedule. UMA so far has changed my life for the better. I'm hoping it only continues to get better.
I am a widow raising four boys. My husband passed away 12 years ago. I recently lost my job, so therefore, I've decided to take a turn in a direction I've always wanted. In the medical field. It feels good to know that my boys are proud of me. Most of all I am proud of myself! It is never too late to follow a dream. I finally took that step. I will succeed. I will become that person whom I've always wanted to be. Thank you UMA.
I have been wanting to do an online medical course for a minute now. Traditional college is really not an option for me because of my illness but I was determined to finish school somehow. I tried going to another and my old school closed down. One day cousin told me about UMA and I finally applied and do far I love it. It's easy to navigate. I also love the fact that I now have a legacy to past on to my seed. Mommy will finish college and have stability for us all. I am excited and very motivated.
I have to admit it, at first I thought UMA was just like the rest of the colleges/universities I have had bad experiences with in the past! You know the type of school that once you are signed up for classes, you are abandoned by the admission guidance counselor; right when you were just getting to trust and like him/her. Also, sometimes the classes you take seem not to apply to the real world. You can feel alone in your pursuit to earn your degree and it can lead to unsuccessful completion. But UMA was and is different...If everyone can remember, I was not too enthused about anyone contacting me about school, because of my past experiences. UMA impressed me with not only the caring instructors but with the real world applications of subjects like sociology and biology. I am very happy I decided to attend. Now I have only five classes remaining to complete the Healthcare Management Degree! I am from Colorado and take courses online and would recommend UMA to anyone wanting a solid career and support team...oh yea, and a diploma, finally!!!
Hello my name is Chandria. I am a mother of two little beautiful girls. I have been in the medical field for over 5 years but the jobs I had were not going to get me to where I wanted to be. I knew I would want a career but didn't know how to get it. Working full time and being a mother of two I knew I wouldn't be able to make it to class so I knew online school was my next option. So I found UMA, and the advisors are so encouraging that I couldn't wait to start. The support UMA team gives is like no other online college and knowing I have a team of people who is willing to support throughout my school until I graduate. I'm enrolled in Medical Administrative Assistant and I am graduating in Jan-16. I'm so close to success and so excited starting my career. Thank you UMA for giving me a chance!!!!
When I started with UMA online I thought I was in over my head. I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into. I was worried about the classes and deadlines that I'd have to keep up with. Even being online the instructors made it easier and worked with me as an individual. They actually called me and went over some of the material. They showed they cared by going above and beyond what a regular college teachers would. If I or any student had problems understanding or couldn't meet a deadline they'd make sure that they'd do everything they could to help the student in need. Even after I graduated the school still kept in touch with me by helping me find a career/job. They motivated me every step of the way. I still keep in touch with one person in particular. She is/was my career advisor Elena T. She called me just about everyday keeping me on my feet and sending me motivational emails. She let me know that me getting a career wasn't just her job but, this was her passion. I thank UMA and their staff for everything they did for me. For the people looking for a school right now stop and check out UMA and what they have to offer. They will build a team around you and help you to your next career path.
I am entering back into the workforce, but before I do I want to get the training I need for the career I am pursuing. I am very excited about the decision I have made for my life.
Hello everyone my name is Heather V., I am 38 years old will be turning 39 at the end of this year 2015. I am currently in the Medical Billing and Coding Diploma course in the middle of my 5th week of my 3rd class here at UMA Online. I chose UMA because they are an excellent school to go through to be in the medical field. This is my opinion, because I have read a lot of bad reviews on Facebook about UMA and I don't understand them at all. Because UMA is great, and they care about you and your goals and they are there to help you succeed in your dreams. I live in Pennsylvania and my husband is retired from the United States Navy, but he still has a full time job because he would be bored just sitting at home. I wanted to pursue my education with UMA in Medical Billing and Coding because I am always there for others in their need for help. So by me becoming a successful Medical biller/coder, I will be doing just that. As well as seeing people get better if they are sick or just seeing new people in the medical field in my future career. I am a stay at home mom for now until I am comfortable out in the field and eventually getting my certification. I recently made the Dean's List and that is an accomplishment in itself, I have never done this or made Honor Roll when I was in high school. I encourage everyone to give UMA a try or chance to show you how great they really are. And pursue your dream in the medical field, like I am doing now. Good Luck to you all and Best wishes to everyone that enroll with UMA!!! UMA ALL THE WAY!!!
I am so excited about my experience with Ultimate Medical Academy. I want to start off by saying thank you to ALL of the staff. You all have made my road a bit easier to travel. Since the very beginning of my MBC program I have had hills to climb, medical, physical, financial, as well as spiritual. All of these issues created bumps in my road and I almost gave up but with the support of the staff and fellow students I was encouraged and they always had a caring word to get me through my issue. I graduated and I am so happy. I encourage you today, with all of the bumps in the road don't ever give up on your hopes and your dreams, and also check-in with fellow students you never know who is being impacted by your actions. Thanking you all for standing with me on my journey. We made it!!!
Shirley J. 2015 graduate in the MBC program.
My name is Virgie. I reside in Durham, NC. I have been out of work about 6 years due to back problems. Over the last 2 years I've been struggling with the idea of going back to school to further my education. I found myself with a lot of time on my hands in which i was doing nothing except being bored. Through the encouragement of my family, I decided to step out on faith and do what I've been contemplating for a long time. About a month ago I decided I was going to take a chance at online schooling. Now I feel like the little red engine. I thought I could, but now I know I can accomplish any goal that I desire. After reading Chapter 1, I see that all I needed was a desire, courage and determination. I look forward to learning and growing with my fellow students. I salute UMA for giving me this opportunity. I'm now on my way to getting a greater knowledge of the medical field.
UMA is the best! I have tried traditional school methods, night school, and even online programs through a different college....but none of them came close to what I get at UMA. They are dedicated to the students and provide everything necessary to help each student succeed. On campus or Online....UMA is the place to be... for working toward your better tomorrow!!
As a new student at the age of 39, UMA allowed me to begin a new chapter in my life. I was determined to change my life around and focus on a career instead of struggling with a minimum wage job trying to make ends meet! UMA has a great support system that allows you to stay focused on your goals. Upon completion I hope to inspire others and not allow age or motherhood to become a barrier. I also have teenage children that are getting ready to graduate from high school and I want them to see my drive. I have to show them that school and education is necessary to succeed in life.
I decided to go to UMA because I have heard so many great things about the Medical Billing and Coding program. I currently have all A's in all of my classes. I would definitely recommend UMA.
I joined UMA because I wanted another degree so I could help others. I have been doing home health care for 11 years now and I enjoy every second I am with my patients. Having this degree will open so many doors for me. I am also opening this business as dedication to my mother.
I would like to say this school overall had really had a huge impact on my life and career. The advisers are like family.
I decided to enroll with Ultimate Medical Academy because I continue to feel stuck at the workplace I am currently employed at. I want to have a career doing something I enjoy doing, helping others, dealing with the public, and making a nice salary with benefits. The only regret I have from starting this major step in my life is that I did not do it sooner! Being a student here has been such a pleasure. The organization, instructors, advisors, and all those involved with the school always keep in touch with me. They take me step by step wherever it is I need to go. There is no question that I have asked, that I have not received an answer to. Outgoing and excited are the personalities you would be accustomed to speaking to whenever you have any problems or questions to ask. I love Ultimate Medical Academy!!! If I could continue to learn, be in school, and receive more degrees and certifications, I would go for the rest of my life, I think!! If anyone is considering getting enrolled with this school, I pray you choose to do so as soon as possible with no delays.
I started UMA when I was at my worst. Now I cant believe my eyes that I am approaching my graduation date and I have learned so much more here. I have remained an honor srudent and have made the Deans List once. It's by far the best decision I ever made.
To every new student: Take advantage of everything UMA has to offer to help you succeed. There is the SOAR program, webinars, general education webinars, a library tour and resources. Do all your homework and ask for help. Go to your teachers’ group sessions. Go online to the text study guides if they are available. Do all the Think Build Learn Success exercises. They are for your benefit. You can change your life for the better, no matter your age, education level, or work experience. Go for it!
Hello I graduated on June 10, 2016. I enjoyed every moment as a student at UMA and I have referred a lot of friends to attend school here. I will be coming back on October 31 for the medical business program and I look forward to another year at UMA...I would like to thank all my teachers, staff and my advisors for helping with making my experience at UMA an awesome one. Thanks UMA!
I was once told that I wasn't ever going to accomplish anything in life, and just having a rough life it was not easy to be in school or graduate on time. This time around I have proven myself that hard work pays off and how excited I am that it has come to an end and I can start my dream job. I taught myself that determination is the key and staying focused is my strength. All things are possible if you believe.
UMA has been a great experience for me. I have received my diploma for Medical Administrative Assistant this year, and I am studying for my Associate and will receive my Associate next year. UMA has been a great experience for me, because they are always there when I need help: My instructors, my advisor, everybody, and they have the best financial plans available
I started at UMA because I was tired of dead-end jobs. I wanted a career. I had done some work in the caregiving field but I was not certified and I didn't have a degree. UMA gave me the confidence and the know how to take control of my life again. I recently landed a perfect job using my skills I learned from my mock interviews during my time at Ultimate Medical Academy. They set the stage for success from day one. I recently lost my fiancée of 12 years due to a horrible medical mistake. It was one of the hardest and most trying times I have had to endure. He has only been gone 2 months. I believe my training at UMA helped me to get through this and understand what exactly happened. Without my medical training I would have been lost. My career advisor has been by my side every step of the way. He checks in with me and genuinely cares. UMA has prepared me to take on the next challenge and chapter in my life. I am currently working towards getting my Bachelor's degree. I could have never done it or had the confidence without Ultimate Medical Academy. Thank you
My experience with UMA has been a great one. It looks like I am about to earn a coding position through the temp agency, Robert Half.
I have been wanting to do this kind of work since I was in middle school. I like to work with people and I love to be around people and make sure they have what they need. I'm a very outgoing person and have a very good heart when it comes to helping other people and I think I would love to get my career going to a point that when I graduate I can get a better paying job and do the job I have always wanted to do and be happy where I'm working. So that is why I chose to go back to school and I think UMA will be a better fit for me due to the fact that they offer more than other schools for the career I would like.
The teachers were absolutely amazing. They were very attentive to my needs and very helpful. I am glad that I chose UMA. I had a wonderful. experience. It was also my first time doing online learning.
Hello my name is Tammy and I am excited about joining UMA to have financial stability, help others, to maintain job security with great benefits and to be able to take care of my family. I love helping...my first job was in the Direct Care Field, then I got into factory work because I needed a check every week, compared to bi-weekly, then after being laid off seasonally 4 years in a row, I got into the Criminal Justice Field and I had to mandate between 60 to 120 inmates everyday as well as filing, making weekend passes, work release passes, checking them in, waking them up for roll call, making them clean their rooms, and shower. After that I was transferred to the Women's Facility to do the same because I didn't play games with them. If they had a problem, I'd take them off to the side to talk to them. Most of the time they were fine because all they needed was a decent conversation. I have 3 grown children and 3 grand babies and I enjoy waking up every day by The Most High, just need something to do, so I chose to go back into the Medical Field and my significant other joined first, so I said why not go back to school.
Just wanted to share my story. I am a 62 year old at UMA studying online. My program is Healthcare Management. I am having a wonderful time with my studies. Max G. is my advisor. I am so blessed to have him, he helps me stay on top of my curriculum and courses. I am also very blessed that my daughter is a student online with UMA in the same program, Healthcare Management. We are sharing thoughts and course action with each other. I am a few months ahead of her and it is such a blessing to be 62 and be able to get things accomplished as I am doing. To God Be The Glory. My daughter and I look forward to graduation in 2017. I will complete my studies before her, but hopefully we should be able to graduation together. We plan to come to Tampa from Charlotte for the graduation, then go cruising together for some mom and daughter ME time together to celebrate our accomplishments. Thank you UMA for making it possible.
Hello my name is Herminia. I’m excited to go back to school. I love it, it's something I always wanted to do. Because of my parents' circumstances it was not possible back beck then. After I graduated from high school I wanted to go to nursing school, but my parents were unable to help me. I was the 15th child of my parents. I got married and started a family at a young age.
Then my mother got sick and I took care of her for 30 years while taking care of my children. Both my spouse and I work hard to educate our children. My daughter is a graduate nurse and my son is a teacher with his master's degree. We made sure they received what we did not. My first job was as a diet aid clerk, then I registered to be a unit secretary and did the course to become a unit secretary coordinator for 34 years until unfortunately my husband became ill with cancer. I took care of him for 10 years then I decided to retire and take care of my sister and her husband who became very ill for 9 years and they both are now deceased. So now I can accomplish my desire of going back to school in the medical field as a unit coordinator technologist. My children and grandchildren can be proud of me. I’m encouraging them to never give up the way that will lead you to the way of success.
I think that UMA is a wonderful school and I would recommend going here to all my friends.
I highly recommend this school because it's straight to the point with the course that you are taking. You have a lot of resources if you need it. The online course also has educational activities as well to keep your mind fresh on the course that you are taking.
I chose to attend UMA because out of all the other advisors I spoke with, the one I spoke with at UMA encouraged me. She asked about my future, what I wanted to become, short and long term goals. That made me feel good! I explained to her my current career and why I became a CNA. She also told me about the different careers that UMA has to offer and what would go with the field I'm already in because I want to continue my career in healthcare. We talked about my family, who's my support system and inspiration? I told her my daughter, at that time I only had one child. However, I feel the same way. I want my girls to know that no matter what throws at you or how old you may be, NEVER STOP CHASING YOUR DREAM! I'm 31 yrs old, married with two kids and yes I wish I would have gone to college straight out of high school yet I didn't but with all the trials and tribulations I've been faced with, I got myself together and continued to CHASE MY DREAMS.
UMA has been a great experience for me. I have received my diploma for Medical Administrative Assistant this year, and I am studying for my Associate and will receive my Associate next year. UMA has been a great experience for me, because they are always there when I need help: My instructors, my advisor, everybody, and they have the best financial plans available.
I decided to go to UMA because the faculty was very understanding. They were always there to help their students every step of the way. They help you get over detours in all areas of your life, not just school issues. I graduated this morning from UMA with a diploma for Medical Administrative Assistant. I enjoyed my studies so much at UMA that I decided to return for a second semester. I am now in the process of getting my associate degree. The teachers and the student advisors don't just sit back and let you go through it alone. They are with you all the way until the end. Whatever you go through in your studies they go through it with you. If you ever steer away from your educational journey, they are right there on the sideline waiting to help you back on your educational journey. They have faith and very high hopes for all of the students that they work with. This is not just one day, this is every day 24/7. Thank you to all of the UMA advisors and staff. It really means a lot to me to have accomplished something very great.
I would like to thank all of the UMA staff for supporting me in this journey. I couldn't have done it without you wonderful people by my side to help and support me. Keep up the great work UMA. You are a great school with a great staff who have changed the lives of many people. I was so blessed to be able to take my first journey with you and now I am on my second journey and I will see you in 2017.
I just love UMA. It is an awesome school.
UMA is a great school to attend. Anything you need, they will try to find a way to make that happen. UMA is the best online school to attend.
I am very pleased with the services and education I received. I started with a diploma in Billing & Coding in 2014 and then went for an associate degree in Medical Office and Billing Specialist and completed that June of 2016. My education has made me stand out in my professional life. Currently I am looking to obtain a degree in Healthcare Management. UMA has been great to me and I recommend their services!
I'm on a mission to complete this course to become financially secure to let my grandkids see that I'm trying to retire to bigger and better things in life. No matter how old we are we still can accomplish our dreams. This is why I've decided to get back into school.
My name is Elizabeth and I'm currently enrolled in the health care management program. I will be graduating in December 2016. I made the choice to join UMA on a spur of the moment decision. I have to admit it was best spur of the moment decision I ever made. Since I enrolled in school, doors have opened for me like never before. I was unemployed, looking for something I wanted to fulfill my dreams and UMA did it for me, eight (8) months of being in school I put in for a job position and the job I got was better than the one I signed up for, and now one (1) year after being in school I've landed a job that starts me off at $35,000 a year and thanks UMA without the support, cheering and beliefs that the staff had for me I don't think I would have excelled this quickly.
I decided to go to UMA because I was looking for a new and exciting career. It would be life changing. It's amazing being a student. I've learned so much in just a short time. UMA makes learning fun and exciting. UMA is a great school. Come join the enlightenment.
Becoming a student was challenging for me in the beginning because I started and stopped. Now that I am a UMA student, I have overcome some obstacles and I'm more focused now than I was before. I'm only in my 4th week of class and I've retained lots of useful information. Attending UMA was the best thing I could have done.
I started in February and I have learned so much! UMA stood by side through the hardest time of my LIFE when my husband passed in April. I almost gave up on everything but a very special lady at UMA stood by my side and I am still here gaining more and more knowledge. Thank you for having me!
I am so glad that I had a chance to further my education and finish my career. UMA is a school that will be honest with you and help you throughout the school year. I have two daughters and I work at a fast-food restaurant, Sonic Drive Inn. I have so much going on right now but UMA helps you to organize your life and time management so you can pursue your goal and life at the same time. Thank you for having me and good luck to each and everyone.
Hello! My name is Sarah and I'm a new student at UMA and very pleased to challenge myself. I've been out of school for over 25 years and this is the hippest thing I've done since I had my children. I'm feeling good about doing this. I chose to do something and UMA answered. So I'm ready to learn and UMA gave me the shine I needed to get to my goal to help the health community.
I decided to attend UMA because I wanted to better myself for me and my daughter and I was helping my sister get good grades. I told myself I might as well do it for my self because D'Souza I did. It was the best decision I made for me and my family. I would tell anyone who wants to go back to school they should go for it. Don't be scared. UMA has great staff who care and call you when you are doing well and badly. They call just to make sure you are comfortable with your studies and teachers and are always looking for ways to help you in any way. And that's why I love UMA and plan to continue on to become a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist.
I started my online schooling in May, I believe, and it's been great. I was looking for something new to do after I got hurt at work and I'd been considering going back to school for a long time and this was the perfect opportunity for me to get back to school and learn something new. I've worked as a hard labor worker since I was 14, I started out in construction then moved into jobs like cooking at some major restaurants as a waitress, cook, stocker and every other type of job you can do in a restaurants. I've also worked as a cab driver and other jobs that I wish were better but I took what I could to stay afloat. Then at the age of 26 I decided to go back to school to become a professional truck driver, my class was 2 months long and I passed with a 3.8 GPA, and from that point until about 4 years ago, I drove trucks in all 48 states, and Canada. I was lucky enough to see things that many people will only dream of, saw many interesting things, met a bunch of great people and had the honor to work at one company, upstaging, where I drove truck for major bands such as Korn, 3 Doors Down, Madonna, I also did some hauling for Def Leopard, and with those tours, I saw and met some very cool people and got to do a lot of cool things in New York City with my co-workers. Needless to say working as a truck driver was the best time of my life due to all the cool things I learned and saw. So when I hurt my back, my whole life was changed and I finally had the chance to do more schooling and learn something else new for my future. I figured that at this point in time, I've got nothing to lose and can only benefit from this spare time since I'm not able to work. I'm into my 12th week at UMA and I'm actually really loving it, I'm holding a GPA of a 4.0 since I've started and I truly didn't think I'd be able to hold a GPA of 4.0, since not being in school for long. I have told a few of my friends about UMA and they have decided to enroll too, which is great. The choice of going back to school was not only for myself but, for my son. To show him that even at 43, it's not too late to learn and continue my education, Which I hope he will also decide to continue his education when he is ready to better his future. I'm doing this for so many reasons but the most important one is for myself, my future and so I can make better money and for when I get ready to retire, I hopefully won't be one of the elders who only get about 800.00 a month to live and survive on. I just want to do better for myself and my life. I'd recommend that people who aren't doing anything for work right now and aren't able to find work, go back to school and get your degree, it never hurts to learn an better yourself. Good luck and happy learning to you all. Tammy K.
I started going to UMA at the end of 2015. I have had many difficult obstacles thrown my way before starting school as well as now. I am a mother of two as well as a wife. My husband has colorectal cancer and I have been maintaining my household on top of handling school and making sure I am turning my classwork in. A lot of times I have thought about giving up and stopping school, but I then think about my kids and how they encourage me to go to school to make a better living for us. I am tired of living from check to check. I want to be able to give my kids the world. I'm not saying I am not because they are my world, and they do tell me as well as thank me for cooking and keeping the house clean. My kids encourage me a lot. They are my motivation and my main focus besides their dad. Their dad has end stage colorectal cancer and it hurts me to see somebody so young going through this much agony. 25 Years old with cancer, it is devastating. I try to do as much as I can to make him as comfortable as possible but as you can see my plate is overflowing. I have people depending on me to stay focused and to graduate. I promise I will not let them down.
My name is Chasity. I am a wife and a mother to one beautiful little girl. I graduated high school from OHVA in 2015 and had my daughter 3 months later. UMA has given me a great opportunity to help my little family have a better life. I am excited to start school tomorrow at 1 p.m. with my adviser.
My experience being an online student in the Pharmacy Tech program was excellent. I never expected doing an online program would be so rewarding but it has been as I reflect back to the journey. I am approaching graduation in the next few weeks. Last week I finished my 180 hour externship! There were several times this past semester when it felt like completing this degree was nearly impossible with mountains of obstacles in the way and being physically exhausted from working 40 hours a week, being a single mom and doing school online full time while maintaining a 4.0. I had tremendous amount of support from my student advisor, understanding instructors, the licensing department as well as my externship coordinator who encouraged me to hang tough and things would come together. Things did come together in ways that I'd never dreamed. I was hired on as a full time pharmacy tech where I did my externship with potential to grow in my professional career as I pursue my National Certification. UMA provided a huge jumpstart into my new professional career as a pharmacy tech. I would highly recommend UMA to anyone that has a passion in pursuing a career in the medical field!
Now a days life isn't the easiest but ever since I graduated high school I never thought I'd go back into furthering my education. My thinking was " Finally! I'm done with school." Through the years my family convinced me to try to find something that I could enjoy and try to go back to school to get a career. Then after my second child I really thought that I needed to better my life for my family and myself. When I went to work one day a co-worker of mine was bragging about going to school and thoughts started going through my head. One day I started asking more questions about the school she went to and how they worked, she smiled describing how wonderful UMA is and how great they worked with her. She convinced me to give them a call and a few days after that, I did. It has been the best decision of my life. Currently I have a 4.0 average and am doing wonderful. I couldn't be happier with how well the teachers and staff work with me. Thank you UMA!
My name is Rosetta A. and I am a 57 year old student from Washington, D.C.. Krystal Turner and others whose teaching skills can be described as excellent and outstanding. I have learned so much and feel truly prepared for whatever job or employment in the health-care or medical field I wish to choose. I see a very bright future for myself whereas before my life did not look so bright. I feel excited, motivated, and thrilled to have taken this educational journey with UMA and I also wanted to mentioned the Learners Advising team especially for people like Mr. Max Green who has been my "Rock," and given me so much support and encouragement in the time I have been here at UMA. I just want to thank everyone and I wish the upcoming graduates many blessings and success in their future endeavors! GOD Bless Ultimate Medical Academy forever and always!
I love being a student at UMA.
I am so thrilled to be attending Ultimate Medical Academy. So far this is a great experience from my peers on down. I'm really over-excited about graduation day slowly approaching. That will be the day. Here I come world.
I am a 50 year young mother of children and a grandmother of 8, who I provided childcare for until they came of school age. While sitting here with my last grandson (I hope) who is now 2 years old, I completed my studies here at Ultimate Medical Academy. The staff is wonderful. If I knew what I know now I would have done this sooner. I never thought I could enjoy learning as much as I have in doing so at the hands of a wonderful staff here at UMA. Thanks Guys, you're the best!!!!!!!! 9/2016 Life changing date for me and my family
I have been a student at UMA for a couple months now and I am on the Honor Roll. I am so proud of myself. I encourage everyone to study hard and take your time on getting everything done. I love taking classes with UMA and the instructors.
I am a UMA student. The program I chose was Healthcare Management and the reason why I chose this program was to become a manager, hopefully working in obgyn offices or clinics. I will be getting my associates degree. I want to also lean towards managing in general maybe in the music industry as well, but a platform in healthcare will help me get my foot in the door with this degree program!!!
My name is Everland S. and I am a 40-year-old African American woman with two children. I had been wanting to go back to school for a while, but I kept putting it off. The reason for that being I was afraid to take that step because I was afraid of failure so I finally convinced myself to make that step saying, "What do I have to lose." So I started searching the web and that's when I saw Ultimate Medical Academy online and I told myself go on and give it a shot. I like helping people so I considered going into the medical field. So I got so excited and I filled out the forms online and submitted it. I did it on a Friday evening and the next day I got a call from a representative. She was so polite on the phone it didn't seem like I was talking to a rep just seemed like I was talking to a friend. She told me all the information over the phone I was kind of nervous thinking, "Is this really going to happen? Am I going to get to do online courses online." She made me feel at ease and that's how I got started at UMA online courses. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a good steady course. I give them a very professional A+. The courses were all mapped out for you for the week and the instructor worked right along with you. I finished my first course and I did better than what I expected. So I'll tell you you're never too old to complete a goal and if you want to benefit from a great education choose UMA. They are the best in my book, they gave me a chance and I am going to strive for pride and success. That is what UMA can do for you. So thank you UMA for opening a bright future for me.
My review on school so far: This is a great school, so happy I chose it. I like how they're there on demand if you need help with anything or class. I would refer family and friends to this school. Great instructors, coaches, and advisors so this is my review so far on school.
This is my first time ever going to school online. I like it because I have kids and to be able to study and be a mom gets overwhelming at times. I like the support that UMA gives and when it's too tough, it makes me strive even more to get my work completed. I am enjoying my online schooling and am looking forward to graduating from UMA.
I began taking my UMA classes in Sept. 2015. I chose Pharmacy Technician because I am a people person. I had been working in an education setting where I was always surrounded by children. My salary was frozen, so I decided to try different routes. I looked into jobs; I was asked if I would like to improve my education, and I said yes. That same day; I received a phone call from someone from UMA who convinced me to look into certifications. I chose Pharmacy Technician. I believe it was the best decision ever made! UMA instructors, coaches and advisors were by my side all the way. That is exactly how they made me feel! They always showed me they cared for me, even though they don't personally know me. I know they were just doing their job, but I believe they went above and beyond to help me during my training. They gave me tips of how to learn, and shared their own professional experiences and knowledge. I want to see their faces, and hug their necks! I hope I can do that when I come to Tampa for my Commencement! I want to personally thank them for being by my side!!! I truly recommend UMA !!!!!! It will be your best decision!!!
I started my journey in August of 2015. I decided to return to school and further my education in the medical field. I have been a certified Nursing Assistant for 30+ years, along with being a Home Health Aide for the same amount of time. As I have aged it has gotten harder to do my job with the physical demands of constant lifting and transferring patients. This is where I made my decision to advance my skills and knowledge to the office related skills of customer service. I have struggled at times in classes but, I am proud to say I have achieved the first leg of my journey and I have returned to school to finish with a bang! So, I am proud to say I am going for the GOLD! My Associate's Degree is now my goal. The UMA staff have been a big help to me, the career advisors go beyond to help you obtain a career or prospects of one. I have enjoyed the chance of learning all I can to continue in the medical field and help me understand the office more proficiently. I am looking forward to a career change, and can't thank UMA enough for giving me that opportunity to do so.
I am a 41 year old with three children. I have a grandson. I'm starting this new journey because I love the medical field. I have been working at the hospital as a patient care tech for eight years. I want more for my grandson. I am excited to get closer to a better career.
I am very excited to further my education with UMA online courses. This is my first time taking a class online. Everyone has been great so far. And I know that with God's help I will be able to graduate.
Since my enrollment in August 2015 my life has changed so much. I have achieved dreams that I never dreamed of, reached a goal that I thought was out of reach. UMA has opened my life up to bigger and better success in life, since being enrolled in UMA I have been on the Dean's list every quarter. In June 2016 I became a member of the Ambassador program, then July 2016 I became a member of Alpha Beta Kappa. Without UMA these goals wouldn't happened. Thanks UMA for all your support, help, influence, and cheers, and a special Thanks to Haryjoivid, Meagan and Frank. You guys are my lifelines and I'm proud to have you guys cheering me on.
Hello I'm Xavier. I'm ready to begin my courses at UMA. This will be a thrilling experience. I'm ready to begin this journey to set myself up for a lifetime of opportunities that with help me start an organization.
I was very excited about being admitted to Ultimate Medical Academy. My goal is to become one of the first students at the age of ninety to graduate from Ultimate Medical Academy with the insight of building my own business as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. My gratitude goes to all that have welcomed me to UMA. I am happy to be in competition with five grandchildren and two great grands. I must compliment one of my grandsons that graduated from the University of Texas a few weeks ago. That gave me more courage to try to achieve my goal. So I will enter UMA July 18, 2016.
Hi everyone, my name is Megan. I have five wonderful babies all under the age of seven. My daughter is six and a half, my son is three, my three younger daughters are two , one and three months. I have a wonderful loving husband named Cory and we have been together for four amazing years! I decided to go to UMA to do the one thing every family wants or should want. That is to be financially secure, to enjoy vacations and to enjoy what you do for a living and it be worth it. I was not mature at first, years ago and I didn't have very many goals but often wondered about a successful future. I let fear and being nervous hold me back like many others and most of my fears were because I wasn't going to be attending a college with a lot of familiar faces in the same career choice as me. I would always come up with excuses after requesting school information and then back out of the enrollments. As of this year, wanting success is a must for me! I know I am not the only one out there afraid and I can get that support from all the students here and staff that started out like me but pushed past that fear. To an extent, I still am afraid. Not to be in the school, but failing. So remaining positive and talking to family and peers as well as getting to know students communicating with them and instructors pushes me past it. I can not let that fear hold me back. I searched for the last couple of years through the colleges and career fields for something to be successful in and that I would enjoy. I could not find anything that would accommodate my needs of schooling at home with being in the medical field. I stumbled across UMA online by accident. When I read about the school and saw how a lot of students were accomplishing their goals and graduating I began to grow an interest. I decided it was worth a try to at least push past that being "nervous" and come out of my shell and speak to an admissions representative. Once I did, I saw how nice they are here and when I was accepted I became so overwhelmed with joy! I could not be happier to be a student here and to say I attend the online schooling of UMA obtaining my Associates for Medical Administrative Assistant. I see the support and how involved UMA is with their students and getting things resolved. I could not be more impressed. One thing I love is how each student is acknowledged for their hardwork and dedication. I love to skim through and see the responses UMA has made to each individual student that obtained a certificate for the Deans list or a cord and ect. I love the support and how UMA seems like a family. I would tell anyone that considers UMA my experience and my observations to enroll and give it their all. I can not wait to walk with my class in Florida and I will be coming from Mississippi. Thank you everyone for this opportunity and reading my story. For everyone that reads this; "If you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed."
In the past week, I have had more help from advisors with financial aid and getting started than I actually had in high school. So far, I'm enjoying being a student again. (It's only been 24 years since I graduated high school. I'm overly excited!!!)
I was scared to start going to an online school because I did not think that I would pass my classes but I must say going to UMA was the best thing I have done so far. I am proud of myself and my kids are too.
Everything was great.
UMA seems to be a great school. I can see that it's going to take lots of time and patience but I'm aiming towards the right direction and also I'm very excited about starting classes.
I decided to attend UMA because I have been in a dead-end job for over eight years and needed to improve my education to start a career. I am happy I did because now that I am educated I have career choices and a brighter future. I would recommend UMA to others as it has worked for me. As a student I have gained an experience of a lifetime, the effort the staff makes to make sure that you, the student, excels and succeed in your career path, there are resources in every area of learning, UMA faculty and staff are very encouraging, their professors are knowledgeable in the area of your choosing, they are understanding and with their support you must succeed.
UMA has been a great experience. From the instructional level to the assistance if needed. I am a 63 year old mom of 8. I have 4 natural and 4 adopted. I found myself with injuries that kept me from returning to my normal job and returning to school. This was a very trying time for me. I had just lost my mother, my youngest daughter was moving to Texas, and my son has been dealing with personal issues. I spoke with my advisor many times and she was my rock through all of this. Not just the things mentioned were going on, but one year ago, we were flooded and had no power for 15 days. I believe I had more cell phone calls than I could have ever thought possible from her checking on us and our situation. I was ready to give up many times. Thanks to her support, I graduated May 22, 2016. I have decided to go on and get my related associate degree. I worked with this amazing man on a job and many many interviews. I so recommend this group for school. The education is great as well as many many people that will support you. Thank you UMA.
Hello, my name is Takea. I am 32 years old. I am a single parent of two handsome young men who are 11 and 6 years old. After years of being out of school, I decided to take a leap of faith and start school again. I am in my 3rd week right now and I must say that everything is going smoothly. I am so excited to be able to do what I have a passion for and that's helping people. I am looking forward to this journey.
Hi! My name is Cheryl, and I enrolled with the Ultimate Medical Academy in September of 2015. After doing some reasearch of different schools, I decided that UMA was the best one for me. My experience with UMA was a great and very educational one. I appreciate all the help that I receive while attending there. Although I took my courses online, they were the most helpful online courses, I've ever taken. I have never experienced so many avenues to obtain knowledge from. You have the virtual library, academic coaches, academic advisors, intelligent instructors who lay out all your assignments, discussion questions, and tests, for the five week period, which makes it easy for you to follow. They also have live chat if you get stuck. Just to name a few. I really appreciate the time spent with each and every advisor, coach, instructor, every email, and phone call. Thanks Trina for getting me started. Thanks Charles for being there when i needed you. Thanks Darrell for being such a great help in my mock interview. Last but not least, to Ms. Vargas, whom I talk to on a regular basis, who will be with me to help me get my career on the road. I truly appreciate you. Let me just say to all of you at UMA who has played an intricate part in helping me from beginning to the end of my program, I truly appreciate each and every one of you for making my journey as a Medical Administrative Assistant a great experience. YAY I DID IT!!!!!! SEE YOU AT GRADUATION!!!!!!
Hello my name is Daniel and I always wanted to go to a school to get my degree in Healthcare Management. At the time that I applied I was going through some issues but I met one of the admissions representatives and she understood me, so she had me enroll in class. I've been doing a wonderful job and now I am about to graduate in September and I have a job lined up already. Going to UMA has been a wonderful experience and the advisors have made a major change in my life. I would recommend my friends to be a part of the winning team UMA.
I just wanted to let everyone who thought they were too old to start a new career, that it is never too late. I am in my middle 50's and have not been in school since I graduated high school in 1982. I started classes at UMA Online in
August 2015 and have been fortunate to have been on the Dean's list every quarter and I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. It has not been easy but there are coaches and other help that is always there to make sure you succeed. If I can do this, then anyone can who really wants to.
Hello, my name is Dorthia. I'm so honored to be here today. Last week I didn't know whether I was ever going to attend school or not. The way my life is going I didn't think I would have such luck. I just recently had a baby girl and I just knew I had to do something to better our lives. I was the happiest person in the world when Faith and Andrew said they accepted me. I knew from this day on that I have to complete this goal because they believed in me. They're giving me a chance to start a better life. I honestly want you all to know this was one of the best gifts someone has given me since my daughter was born. I know that I'm going to make it through successfully. I may not have family standing behind me but I'm more than grateful I'm with you all. Thank you so much dynamic team!
The UMA staff are very easy-going, really nice, and understanding. They make distance learning easy to do no matter where you are located even if you move quite a bit. They constantly check on their students and make sure you complete your program. I am excited about completing something in my life.
After I graduated from high school I attended a semester of college. I found myself ready to settle down with a family and did not finish school.
My children are now raised and I decided it was time to do something for me. I have always wanted to go into the medical field and I decided it was time to do it. I had a lot of anxiety on whether it was too late in my life to go back to school and to keep up.
I must tell you UMA has taken away those anxieties. They offer so many vehicles of support. From financial aid, student advisors, instructors, learning center, library and other students. Everyone is so supportive.
I am UMA's biggest fan and am constantly telling people if they ever thought about going back to school or want to change careers to choose UMA. It has changed my life and I am so glad I decided to come back to school.
The support system is remarkable, everyday I am in touch with someone from UMA.
There are numerous learning labs you can attend online from Microsoft products to your classes.
The UMA team is so supportive and they want you to succeed.
Hello my name is Fania. I'm a first time online student here at UMA. I'm excited to obtain my degrees in the medical field because in my opinion it's a promising field where there is opportunity to grow as you go. The medical field is always in demand for employment opportunities. I want to set an example for myself and for my son that one can achieve anything their hearts desire if they don't give up and if you put your mind and hard work into obtaining what you want. I want to set a goal and reap the rewards of my achievements for both him and I. I'm looking forward to working closely with other peers and staff whom up to this point have been so patient and helpful throughout the start-up thus far. I encourage anyone who is interested to at least give it a try and do not give up no matter what. No dream is too big to achieve.
I was skeptical to stay enrolled at UMA, to say the very least, but I have stuck with it. I am already a Registered, Certified, and Licensed in the state of Illinois, as a Pharmacy Technician, but I decided to enroll into the "Associate of Health Sciences for Pharmacy Technician," because I don't have any actual degrees, only diplomas and or certificates, so...that being said, though I am almost done at UMA, and it has been a really nice overall experience. They truly do care a lot about their students and I have learned a lot more than I did before I came to Ultimate Medical Academy. I am almost done and look forward to completing my externship time here soon. I just hope and pray, that I will obtain either a career for what I am going to school for or in Nursing hopefully. I go to school face-to-face for the Nursing Assistant class and will more than likely pursue a long-term career of choice in that profession and I have much more experience doing that line of work. I just wish, that the Nursing Assistant Program, was offered online. I guess, I should have done something similar to that of the Personal Assistant or Patient Care Technician program instead, but long-story-short, though UMA, has been a great choice!
My name is Freddie and I'm pleased to say I was supposed to start two weeks ago, but I re-enrolled and I start today and I want to thank financial aid and advisors for giving me a second chance to complete my course and I promise to work very hard. I'm 58 years old, I take care of four grandkids who tend to be very challenging. I'm not employed at the time but through it all I hope my grandchildren will see that education is important at any age and be very proud of me.
UMA is an awesome school, it opened great opportunities for me. My advisors and teachers were amazing! Thank you UMA!
I am more than proud to be a part of Ultimate Medical Academy.
I'm happy with my decision to go to UMA. I'm learning a lot and like the interactive modules and quizzes.
Hi my name is Jennifer. I am an honors graduate with my Associate degree. I can't tell how you blessed I have been through UMA. They have helped me with mock interviews because I used to be really shy around other people. I have had a couple of jobs they have helped me with. I am still unemployed but I am now getting my Bachelors Degree with their sister school NAU. I can tell you God has been with me the whole time and I am still an honor student thanks to what UMA has taught me and what NAU has taught me. My tip is ask God for instruction in your studies and your career. He has great plan for us all.
I was so happy when I enrolled at UMA. I will be graduating 10/30/16 with my Associate of Science in MBC . I have s lot of support from my coaches my teachers. You all provide the help you need to get through your course and graduate on time.
I dropped out of school in ninth grade. I went back to school at the age of 37, 16 months later, and received my GED, 16 months later I finished a cosmetology class. Now I'm enrolled at UMA. I have always been my own incentive, challenging myself to do better and be a better person. It has great finacial aid and all staff are there when you need help. Thank you UMA for giving me another chance for betterment.
I decided to attend U.M.A. first for their location and online pro gram, then after speaking to the admission rep Mr. Green was when he lost contact with me and began reaching out to my family, I quickly realized his commitment to find me showed me the dedication of U.M.A.That genuine sincerity of concern in his voice and conversation touched my heart. I was ready and U.M.A. was there for me and my family.
I decided to attend your online courses to finish my Associates in Science and also receive a certified Health and Human Service program. Honestly I started out a little rough on myself, but your instructors have been a tremendous help and I hope there will be more instructors with the same amount of patience. Happy to be with your UMA Learning Team.
I decided to go to UMA online because I wanted a change in my life even though I was in my forties. I knew I wanted to be in management and in the healthcare field and UMA fit my need. I loved the fact that I could work full-time and still go to school full-time. I am so glad I made the decision to enroll. I was able to schedule classes and study time for myself, maintain a 4.0 GPA, graduate with high honors, become a member of ABK and an Ambassador for UMA. I graduated in September and in January I was hired as a Clinic Manager for a healthcare clinic. No matter what age you are, believe in yourself! UMA is the place to go. The professors are great and the staff is very helpful and everyone wants to see you succeed! The challenge is there for you to accept.
The reason I decided to go back to UMA was because I wanted to see how far I can push myself. It's always good to learn something from the medical field. I'm very proud of myself, the next step to my achievements AND accomplishments and goals. COME to UMA. You will enjoy either one you decide on, online or hands-on classes.
I signed up for UMA to further my education in the medical field. I tried the LPN course but pharmacology was very hard for me and I had to drop out of school. I did challenge the state board and passed as a CNA 2. I started private duty caring for terminally ill patients and worked well with all my patients because I knew their needs. My oldest son was my last patient before injuring my back to the point of not being able to physically help others in and out of beds so I retired from nursing duties. I am returning to school for higher education as a Medical Administrative Assistant so I can continue to help my fellow man in any way I possible can. I am so thrilled that I did return to school. I have learned so much and everyone at UMA has been just so helpful and friendly. Being a student made me feel young again. At the age of 65, I amaze myself for keeping my mind sharp from reading, studying and doing research. I love it. I would tell everyone and in fact I am telling all my friends that they should call and enroll at UMA because it is a GREAT school. Thanks to all Staff members at UMA !! GREAT TEAM !!
UMA has changed my Life forever. UMA is not just a school to provide you with the academic skills required for diploma or degree. UMA also restored a life in the process. I had to leave a 24 year career due to illness. I have Sarcoidosis and it affected every aspect of my life. UMA restored and enhanced all that I thought I had lost. I now have restored confidence in my abilities, restored confidence that I can achieve anything no matter what my body is doing at the time. I know have a brighter future for myself and my son. I now have a new career and although there is no cure for me, my life shall be prosperous and I will fulfill my personal needs to feel like a productive member of society once again. I cannot Thank UMA and its staff for all of the encouragement, all of the continual support and extensions granted me from instructors willing to work with me to help achieve my goals. UMA is more than merely a place for an education, it literally can restore a person, and give them hope. I am forever greatful and shall demonstrate this by being all I can be in my new profession as a Medical Biller and Coder. I cannot thank you ALL enough, there are no words.
I have learned a lot while a student at UMA and I will be going back for more education.
I decided to attend UMA, because I wanted to get all the education that I needed to be a medical billing and coder. I had wanted to do this for some time but I made up my mind when I had a phone call with Mr. Calhand. I have not regretted my experience with choosing to go back to school. I am older and I didn't think that I would complete this course. I had staff that were here to help me, whether I had a silly question or I just didn't understand what I needed to do.
I am glad that I chose to further my education and that I had people that cared and understood that I wanted to learn and finished this course. I would like to thank everyone that was there for me, when I didn't understand myself why I chose to go back to school and was ready to give up when one of you would call and give me a good feeling about going back to school and that I could do it. Here I am at the end and feeling good about my adventure and my learning experience. I know now that I can go further and anywhere that I want to in my quest for a career in the medical billing and coding field. I am delighted to have been in school and learned that the sky is the limit to what I can have.
I would like to say to anyone who doesn't think they can go back to school and finish with a good feeling that at your age you can have whatever career you want to have. STOP! Think about your life ahead or the rest of your life what you will have to offer because you went back to school and (finished). I am 61 years of age and I did it. Thanks to UMA and GOD, I can go far.
I decided to attend the online course for UMA because it was time to make a change for myself and my new baby. I am 40 years old and my baby is now 23 months. I was going nowhere with the same bad choices I have made in the past, but now I am stronger! I love my life and do not want to continue making those mistakes just because I had no confidence in myself. I am very confident now and I wish there was the same confidence back when I was 19. I will never make the same mistakes again, I promise to myself and my baby, but most of all GOD! I wish I could tell the world how hard my life has been and the bad things I have been through, but that would be a very long story and a sad one. I am so strong now thanks to GOD and UMA!!! I love UMA and am very grateful for all of my advisors, Rene D., Jonathon H., Kevin N., and Allen my new learner services advisor. I have so much to thank them for because when I thought I was slipping backwards, they built me up and I am stronger than ever! I have a great deal of gratitude and owe UMA my best! I would recommend UMA to anyone who really wants to change their life and only the strong will make it! Being a student has been the best experience this far. I am going to continue my education with UMA and will be dedicated to UMA. Thank You UMA!!
When I first started going to this school I did not know what was going to happen as far as me passing or was I going to just start and then stop attending. But I can say I have come a long way and I love it. It is the best thing that I have chosen to do in a long time. Yes it was hard but I stuck with it and now in a few days I will have a diploma and it doesn't get any better than that!
Hello and good morning. All l have to day is that put God first in everything you do. When l decided to join I was very glad l did. It helped me to stay focused on my career and goals, so l advise anyone who would like to join please you'll be glad you did.
I love this school.
I chose to go to UMA because I wanted to better myself and have always liked to help other people.
I am so glad I was accepted to attend UMA. It has shown and taught me a lot. I can't wait until I graduate.
It has been a great journey month after month to learn the medical field and get support from the Ultimate Medical Academy Team. They are there to assist you along the way to better yourself and become what ever you were meant to be. I would recommend UMA to anyone who is looking for a major change in their life. UMA gave me confidence and a better knowledge of where I was going with my life. Again thank you for all of you out there that have been on my side all along. Michael, Pharmacy Technician Degree.
I'm so excited about starting UMA. How great it is to have a whole team behind me. I'm already loving it.
I decided to join UMA to gain more education and I was pregnant at the time so I thought it would be a great idea to make a new and better life for my little one. I'm glad I joined because my experience has been nothing but great. From the advisor to the instructors I will be more than glad to refer a friend to go this school but only if they are willing to learn and pursue there dreams. When I first started I wasn't the best student I had a lot going on. I failed a course three times in a row due to my pregnancy and I wasn't applying and effort in my school work. I went on leave and returned in September on thin ice having to pass all my classes to reach my graduation goal. From than on out I have been a A an B student. Determination comes from your heart you have to mentally ready before physically ready. I'm telling this story because it might motivate another individual to strive for excellence. UMA is a great way to start !!!
My name is Shannon. This is my first time taking online classes an I am so excited about making a career change in my life. I have worked for in home services for the better part of my life. My work consisted of taking care of elderly in their own home so that they didn't have to go to the nursing homes. I would do what it was that they needed done with cleaning their house to giving them a bath to changing and cleaning their clostamy bags. Whatever it was that my client needed me to do for them I did it. What I think I will want to learn most about in my courses is the medical language better and hopefully learn how to spell them better. The most challenging thing that I'm facing is using the internet and learning how to do all of the learning on line. I will learn it might take a little while for me to get the hang of it. The reason I think is because I haven't really been online in ten years.
Hi my name is Yazzmine and this is why I chose UMA to become a better me. I have an 8 month old son that I have to start a better life for. I'm glad that I picked this program because it's online courses that I can complete with my child being right here by my side. I recommend any mother that can't get breaks or do anything without their child to choose UMA. You can be a Mother and accomplish while being at home with you kid. Thankful for this program!
I just wanted to say thank you to all at UMA. The experience that I had attending your school was amazing. I took my course online. I went to my commencement ceremony March 12th 2016. I would recommend any student to attend.
I am writing this to let everyone know how great of a school Ultimate Medical Academy really is. I have been given an opportunity to go back to school and I chose this school because it has great opportunities and they have the world's greatest people that work for them. Their Academic Coaches and Student Advisors are awesome. The ones I have are. It is great being a student, I have been out of school for 37 years and I was really skeptical to go back to school at my age, but it has turned out to be a beautiful experience for me and I am loving it. I would tell anyone who is interested in going back to school, go to UMA you will not regret it. In fact you will be very pleased and happy that you did. I first took Medical, Billing and Coding, I graduated from there and decided to go for my Associate's Degree and I am so glad that I did. After, this I am going for my Bachelor's Degree and anything else that I feel will give me that boost that I need in my life. I love challenges and I am going to keep on pushing forward. To all that read this I really encourage you to go to UMA if you are out there looking for a College, they are terrific!
I love this school. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. I decided to go to this school because it is online and I have experienced alot with my husband. I have an awesome academic coach. It is very tough at times being a student after being out of school for over 30 years but I wouldn't trade it at all. I am glad I went here. I have told people about the school who might consider it.
I was a PT Trainer until I went out with friends and was hit by two drunk drivers. I had to have two 15 inch rods put in my back which ended my training career. So due to the crash, I am no longer able to continue the career path I had chosen, leading me to a medical field. I believe UMA can help me achieve my financial stability while helping others.
I am so proud and honored to be a graduate of UMA. I learned so much and I worked so hard to get where I am today. Graduating with High Honors is not something I ever thought would be possible. Thanks to UMA for such a wonderful educational experience.
When I first started attending was very excited. I knew that I can pursue in accomplish my goal and becoming a medical assistant.
I planned on returning back to school to better myself, and to be the BEST role model to my daughter possible! My future goals are to become a physician assistant and master my skills in assisting the vulnerable groups of the world. I enjoy what I do!
I enjoy this school and I have accomplished a lot being here at UMA. I have learned a lot from the courses I have taken.
My name is Christine F., I am a 27 year old mother of two beautiful children and a stay at home mom. I chose UMA because they offered everything I was looking for in a school. I am very glad that I chose to go back to school and further my education because I feel like a better role model for my children and my nieces and nephews. People who are considering UMA should just jump right on in and do it because in the end you will feel better about yourself that you accomplished a huge step in your life.
When I started my academic journey with UMA, my life had recently turned upside down. My children and I were in an unsafe environment and by the grace of God we were able to escape the abuse we were enduring. I started this course with the intention of finishing in ten months but was't able to finish until February. During my course I experienced being homeless, losing my nephew in a tragic fire, and bouncing around to different addresses. I have also had to change all my contact information many times due to the instability of my son's father. I don't like sharing these experiences because I have had a lot of shame of staying to long and putting my dreams last. I only share them with hope that someone going through trials and feel like they can't achieve their dream that we are the same and that if I can stick with it so can anyone. I had to take a couple of classes twice but I still didn't let it discourage me to quit. In conclusion, thanks to the UMA TEAM as a whole. If it wasn't for the inspirational words at just the right time I would've thrown in the towel with the attitude that I am not good enough for a better life. The best advise I have for new students is this, stay the course. If something is not going your way reevaluate and go another way but don't give up. Oh and one more thing do better them me, reach out to your UMA Team and keep them informed as to what is going on. The people in this school genuinely care and are truly you're main supporters through this academic process and they will never give up on you.
With the highest regards,
I decided to go back to school to get a better paying job and to better my future. I'm 48 years old and if I can do it anybody can do it. It doesnt matter how old you are, you're never too old to learn so don't keep putting off until tomorrow because tomorrow may never come so take that leap of faith today.
I was so lucky to get to go to UMA! A few months after graduation they found me an amazing job at an oral surgeons office. On my 3rd day of work I became the administrative assistant and have been using my skills from UMA every day! I would never be able to do what I do with out everything I have learned at UMA! The office manager is also a UMA graduate! With everything we have learned from UMA we've been able to turn the practice around and bring the office more into the 21st century. We are both very proud to be UMA alumni. Our diplomas hang proudly on the office wall, along with the our doctors' diplomas!!!
I am very pleased with the staff and the instructors I have had. Everyone has been so helpful and understanding with things that were going on in my life. I had 3 major surgeries since I started school September 9,1014, and never missed a beat. I was in the hospital for weeks at a time for each surgery. Now I am getting ready to graduate with honors in March 2016. This is the best school I could have every gone to, everyone at UMA ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
I joined UMA so that I could further my career and find better employment so that I could be a better parent for my children and I. UMA is a wonderful school and I have learned a lot about the medical field. I would refer a friend to the school.
UMA has given me another opportunity to become a member of a great academy. Thank you so much. I will achieve greatness!
I wanted a school that would fit into my schedule and I found that UMA was what I was looking for. I am so glad that I attend UMA as this was the first step to my ultimate goal to become a nurse. At times I found myself struggling with the littlest of things, but once I got past that I was able move forward and earn a 4.0 GPA. I would tell everyone if you are second guessing other schools like I did, Ultimate Medical Academy is the perfect school for you. There are all sorts of people that you can contact to get help whenever you needed it.
I love this school. They want to help people pass the class and they call to check on you to see if you need anything.
I'm a 58-year-old a grandma of 6. I've been a care giver for as long as I can remember, working in nursing homes, taking care of my sister when she got cancer, my dad and mom. Coming from a large family I did my part of caring but I wanted my grandkids to see it's never to late to learn. So here I am looking to grow just a little bit more.
I decided to go back to school to start a new career. I have been knocking around the idea of medical billing and coding for a few years. I found UMA online and when I talked to Jason he made me realize that this school really cares about it's students. This online schooling is new for me and I am on a learning curve. I haven't been in school for 12 years so I am starting all over again. I did recruit my husband even before class started. He and I are going to school together and this will be fun to help each of us grow in our knowledge simultaneously.
The best decision I have ever made. UMA is a fascinating school to attend. The staff is amazing, I would highly recommend UMA to anyone.
I have been working in the Healthcare Field since 1996. I am a CNA working with residents. I have been on my job for 19+ years. I wanted to stay in the healthcare field but change my profession and that is one reason why I decided to go to UMA. I had wanted to see my life go in another direction. The advisors are great. They are always there to help you when you may need it. The teachers are wonderful as well. I am anticipating on graduating August 2016 with a Medical Administrators Diploma.
I have decided to go to college to make a better person of myself and to do what I love to do, which is to help people. I like to work with kids and older people and this will give me the opportunity to do just that.
I am excited to be in an online class and learning new ways to bring out the best in myself.
I'm am happy to join UMA and I'm looking forward to the excitement throughout my course.
Hi I am Don'Taija J., I am from Passaic New Jersey. I lived up North for nineteen years. I have been living in Florida for almost nine months now. I attended one year in college at Bergen Community College and one semester at Saint Petersburg College. I finished all of my generals, now I am doing online classes at Ultimate Medical Academy. I started a month ago, I am enjoying myself as well. I was always scared of online classes until last year I finally faced my fears and took one online class and one blended class. So now everything I do I just do my best well at least try 100%. So far I am doing so well. My highest grade on a test was a 92%, my lowest grade was a 76%. On my discussion and assessment I always receive a 100%. As far as my extra credit I always ace those too. For the most part UMA team members are helpful, they call frequently and check up on me and make sure I am on the right path.
Hi my name is Belinda and I am a single mother of three. The reason why I picked UMA is because they have the best programs and providers that really want to see you do better in your life and make your goals become reality.
My journey with UMA has been such a pleasure that graduating on June 26th will be bitter sweet. I wish they offered courses for bachelor degrees, as I will been continuing my education this fall.
When I first enrolled I was nervous, afraid, and skeptical of my capabilities. See, I graduated High School in 1999 and other than assisting my three children with their homework I haven't done anything close to studying in over 15 years. Fortunately, UMA staff helped me every step of the way. With their assistance I have managed to earn a 4.0GPA to which I have maintained throughout my 11 months of studies. For anyone who thinks online schooling is easy (because you work from home), I am here to tell you that you're wrong. My hectic life as a mother, wife, and working woman leaves no room for anything else. So to succeed academically I had to apply great discipline and focus. Because it is easy to put an assignment/studying off until tomorrow when your instructor can't chastise you face-to-face.
I can only speak on behalf of the online program, however if the campus students are given even half of the time, assistance, dedication, and support I received (as an online student) then they too are well taken care of. My advisors have been constant throughout my journey; with telephone calls and emails informing and reminding me that they were there if needed. They are always providing information on the academic programs I qualify for, encouraging me every step of they way and are often congratulating me for my continued success. I am proud to say I am now a UMA Student Ambassador and will being joining the Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society very soon. Accomplishments made possible by UMA.
I am ever so grateful for UMA, from the advisors to the instructors. They have opened a door to which I thought was closed many years ago. I'm so proud to call UMA my school that I recommended it to my younger sister and she recently began in the Medical Billing and Coding diploma program. If anyone is looking to further their education with a school that cares more about their students than how much they should charge for tuition, I whole heartedly recommend UMA. You will be far from disappointed.
I decided to attend UMA to make a better life for me and my son. I am very happy I did it. Everything I am learning is really helping me learn everything I need to know about my career field. They are very helpful. Being a student is great. I am enjoying classes and talking not only with my classmates but the teachers, advisors and every support team the school has. Whenever you call if you can not reach the person you need to speak with everyone is very helpful and will get it done for you. If you are considering UMA do not second guess it. Go ahead and sign up to better yourself. You will not regret it.
My name is Rhonda C. and I'm a proud mother of 4 beautiful daughters and 4 grandchildren. I am new to the medical field so it's both exciting and a little scary at the same time. I recently graduated from UMA and I have my certificate in Medical Billing & Coding. I have decided to continue with my education and go for my Associate Degree. If it wasn't for UMA's wonderful instructors I don't know of I would have succeeded and be where I am right now. My learner services advisor Ashlie was and is amazing. I loved having her as my advisor so much that I requested to have her be my advisor as I continue my education. My favorite person at UMA is my career advisor Elena. She helped me to believe in myself and taught me so much more than just suceeding, she helped me to see the me on the inside and realize what an awesome person I am. If it wasn't for Elena's positive reinforcement I wouldn't have the confidence in myself that I now do. Thanks to her help I will now be starting a new job working part time for a dental office. So for all of you reading this I think UMA is GREAT!!! They're there for you from beginning to end and always in between. You can't go wrong with this school. Always remember if you ask and you don't get an answer don't be afraid to ask someone else.
I felt like it was time to go and I heard some good things about UMA so I checked into it and liked it. I'm glad I did because I can say I'm doing something with my life. Instead of just raising children, I'm creating a family. All can say is that once you put your foot in the door you don't want to leave.
It's a good school for stay-at-home-moms. It works well with busy schedules.
I really happy so far with my new experience.
My name is Micheal C. and I come from a family that has had a lot of medical issues. My mother is in recession from Uterine Cancer. My father has taken a beating from a motorcycle accident. He was pronounced deceased four times in the hospital and is now standing still here with us today. My sister was having a heat stroke one day at school and we almost lost her due to lack of knowledge the school had on heat strokes. My husband and I have lost our first child (stillbirth) and had four miscarriages. I chose to come to UMA because I did research on the school and like what they were offering and really liked the fact I could attend online classes due to the fact that I have four children and it's really hard to find trustworthy people to babysit now-a-days. I'm glad I'm attending UMA because I want to further my career and make something with my life and help others and make sure they're healthy. Its amazing, it's somewhat tough at first to get in the swing of things. I'd probably tell people who are considering coming to UMA that they were making the right decision. The administrators are awesome and the teachers are very understanding. This is an amazing opportunity. Thank you for helping me in my journey UMA.
UMA is a really good school and I would recommend it to anyone here because you get all your basic help if it is needed. The faculty has your back 100% and they really reach out whenever it is needed.
I graduated high school May 2013 at Red Rock Job Corps Center in Lopez,Pa where I lived on campus for a year. It was a pretty great experience for me to be away from my friends and family and my girlfriend. But when I graduated there with GED and Automotive Technician trade I decided to go to school to get something else under my belt and I did. I went to Lincoln Tech for pharmacy technician it was fun especially since I'm in love with math. Then I decided I would go into another school for another medical field opportunity. I began to look online and people would give me schools and websites and nothing seemed to grasp my attention until I received a call from a company that helps you find a perfect school for your fit. I told them what I was into, what I've done, and a little about myself along with my background. They were impressed with my personality and how I carried myself they quickly pointed me towards UMA. Thank goodness because this is the best decision I made and everyday is going to be another day to work harder.
I'd like to thank the instructor and financial department for their patience and kindness in getting me started with my new career I've chosen. I look forward to my new journey. Thank you all for the help I've had it was greatly appreciated. UMA you're awesome.
I began school in May 2015, and found that I love it. When I started I wasn't sure I would be able to go back to school after graduating almost 40 years ago. Everyone here at UMA has been extremely supportive and helpful and I am really enjoying online learning. I work full time but this seems to fit into my schedule very nicely. I would highly recomment UMA.
Hello My Name is ShaDaisha and I am A First Time College Student. I Have Always Dreamed Of Being In The Medical Field, and I Am So Glad To Have This Opportunity. I Am A Mother To A 4 Month Old and That Actually Motivated Me To Push Harder and Accomplish My Goals. Those Who Are Considering UMA, My Opinion To You Is To Go Ahead and Start Today, You Will Have Help Along The Way. One Hundred Percent Guarantee You Won't Regret It. Thanks UMA!
Why did i go to UMA? For many reasons. The teachers are amazing, you have nonstop help and support and they provide so many resources. I have managed to average between an A or B with my GPA being at a 3.5. I am very proud of myself. The reason I went to school is because of my inspiration: My 4 kids along with being an Army wife. My husband comes and goes which is a challenge because I have 4 kids and I work a job at night. Juggling both work, house and homework is a struggle but with the love and support my teachers and advisers give me. I feel like superwoman/mom. I look at it like a chance to make a life for my family. UMA is a great school. I have only great things to say about them. I am very glad I am going to UMA. I graduate soon and I have never been more proud of myself. Online classes are very easy and I say anyone can do it. Parents can do it from home and it's convenient. They do work with you as contact is important. Keeping in touch helps. If you're sick or your kids are you may let your teacher know. They are very flexible and reliable and they help you in every way they can. I advise you to seek this school as your option because they are amazing. They changed my life and I mean that. Having a support system helps as well. If I can do it so can you. My family and their future matters. I want to give it to them and I can now. I will be in a great job I love thanks to my school, UMA. I am amazed please give it a chance no excuse.
I've been to one online school before and it wasn't pleasant. I wanted to further my education but just didn't know where to look. Many schools would sell me their pitch on how their school is the best and why I should attend but once I was in or enrolled I felt lost and no one was there to help me. I'd call and get pushed to caller after caller. Worst experience ever. Until my friend referred me to UMA who was a recent graduate. I immediately called and she was so ecstatic about her experience and she's now going back...I'm now enrolled and on the Dean's list, 4.0 student and people are just waiting for questions to be answered, emails, calls it's like I have to tell them please wait for me to have trouble lol. I enjoy this school I'd recommend anyone to come here. They care about their student's future they want you to succeed. I'm very grateful I have such caring people cheering me on each step of the way...thank you UMA!
Hello everyone, my name is Amanda.
I'm so extremely excited about my the new major step that I have taken in life to better our lives. So I felt the need to share my story!!! I was encouraged by one of my cousins to take this step in enrolling in UMA who is also enrolled, which I feel I couldn't have gone wrong with the decision. I love the support and effort that you receive from the UMA staff which always motivates you that you have what it takes succeed. Plus there is always someone there no matter what time if you need help understanding something, which keeps alot of people from stress which can be a huge help with your work. Thank goodness you dont have that to worry about that with the support team provided for you. I'm focused and pushing to ACCOMPLISH MY GOALS BY ACTUALLY BEING A 2016 GRADUATE OF UMA!!!!!
Wow I do not know how to put this blessing quite into words. I have been searching for an ideal opportunity such as this one. I pray that my time with UMA will open new doors.
Here's a story that many may judge me or commend me for. Growing up in a middle class household with a family of nine children and two adults, education has always been a number one priority. Although my mother was a single woman a few years of my life my father was still involved and they both required nothing but the best. So when I got pregnant at 16 everyone's biggest fear was me being a statistic and not having the education needed to provide. Well boy did I prove them wrong, yes I was 16 and pregnant. I also was 18 graduated and pregnant with my second child with even more motivation, ambition and dedication. Mind made up and eager to start college I started applying at different colleges and begin to put my 5 year plan into motion, I knew at that time I didn't want to work at dead end jobs or struggle with two children at 19. First semester I started off at Fox Valley Technical college, when I soon after realized I was losing interest and slacking on my grades. Just when I was at a standstill and trying to figure out my next step, I received a phone call saying I got accepted into UMA. I heard about UMA from researching online colleges and was intrigued from then on. Learning about everything UMA had to offer and a promising fresh start at a new college is why I decided to go to UMA and I'm so glad I did. Learning at my own pace and being a fast learner are some of my advantages working online. The easy comprehension and consistent at your pace weekly approach kept me interested and on point with all my skills. As a online student I was able to read and check my work afterwards allowing me to get a high grades each time and better understanding of what I've learned. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a new start, better future and a great school with instructors, advisers, tutors and etc. UMA has the best resources, virtual library and all the learning tools you will need to excel. Staying involved with you and keeping you on your P's and Q's to make sure you meet your goals and fully apply yourself. Consider a college that will prepare you for the healthcare field, challenge you, strengthen your weak/strong skills and help you build a strong foundation for your future then UMA is the place for you to start your success story.
I decided to go with UMA..because I have 20yrs experience in Medical records...clerk...and I decided that this was the right time to go back...so I'm home last week with the flu...and low and behold UMA calls me...I think that was God leading me to further my education and career...so here I am excited to get started, although I know it won't be easy.. But I'm ready for the task .
I decided to go to UMA to get a degree to pursue a career in Home Health Services. I care for my 77 yr. old mother on a daily basis. She is diabetic and recently has had a stroke and also suffers with dementia. I basically do all the services for her that her aides and nurses provide when they come twice a week. I prepare my mom meals, check her blood sugar and vitals. I disperse her medicines and draw her needles.
I decided to go to UMA because I wanted to train to be a Medical Assistant.
I'm glad I did!
Being a student at UMA is a rewarding, positive, challenging experience!
If you're considering UMA , I would say research your career goals, with the UMA staff.
I have been an online student for about two months and I am doing really well with my classes.
I had already spent 30 years in health care, it is my passion. Of the many schools I looked at, UMA was the most friendly and accommodating. They had everything I had been looking for. From the beginning everyone has been supportive. I couldn't imagine studying anywhere else. I have attended UMA since 2009. Each time I completed a course, I spoke to staff and they encouraged me on. I have completed four Associate's degrees because each and every person I had contact with made me feel that I could do this. As a student with disablilities, I often felt discouraged. When I did, there was always someone there to give me that extra push. Miguel was my personal cheerleader. I plan to start my own business with the knowledge I have gained.
Anyone considering UMA is making the right choice. You won't find a better staff. You will be guided by the best. Look as this time as an adventure. Challenge yourself, push yourself and you will succeed.
I wish I could attend the graduation to see all of my fellow students achieve their dream. That's what you have to do, follow your dream. To stop dreaming is to stop living.
I originally went to UMA in order to get a better paying job and to get the chance to work in health care facility in order to help people, the reason I wanted to do this is because when I was taking care of my dad he was diagnosed with COPD/congested heart failure I was able to learn how to dispense his medicine and learn how to work oxygen tanks in order to make sure he could breathe correctly and help him do therapy, and then with this past year my husband's grandmother was diagnosed with cancer for the second time, but she was too far advanced before they could find or help with a cure. She was only given month to live but she only lasted two weeks, I watched her slowly decline and when they were talking about the different cancers there were I actually knew what they were talking about and that made me feel so good and confident that I had gone into the right profession. This also made me want to do this even more, and now that I have finally finished with my studies, am preparing for graduation, and moving forward looking for careers in my field on study, I'm very glad that I was able to attend this school, the staff, teachers, support people, student advisors, financial aid advisors, and career advisors are all very helpful and courteous and knowledgeable in their line of work. I would advise anyone who is thinking of going back to school to try this school, because if I'm any indication of how something works for you then anyone can do this and achieve whatever they want to in their lives.
My name is Amanda and I am currently a student at UMA Clearwater. I am attending online courses from my hometown in Panama City, Florida. I am 39 years old. The mother of 2 gorgeous girls ages 18 and 15. My oldest is a recent high school graduate and is currently enrolled in our local State College here in town, and my youngest is entering into High School this year as a freshman. Our family has undergone many changes in just this past year!! I am so proud of my girls, and even more proud of my dedication and perseverance that I have placed in going back to school to further my education for a career goal. I never imagined that I would be going back to school after I had my second daughter. My life was just not able to slow down long enough to sit through a commercial on the television never mind focus on a future career goal. I must have clicked on a link while online one day and an admissions adviser was calling me before I could even log off. Before we were off of the phone, my financial aid was decided, my course was chosen, my graduation date was set, and the discussion of me furthering my education to obtain my Associates Degree was a very real discussion. I am now entering into my 4th class. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA through the last 3 classes. I am more excited, and more proud of myself for the goals that are now in place and steadily being met, that I can now absolutely look at myself as a leader in my girls eyes as well as anybody who doesn't believe that going back to school to achieve a higher calling in life is possible. I have fought to remain successful with no education for long enough!! I cannot win that battle. I now will be entering in to this employment field with a degree in hand and some experience to back me thanks to my amazing instructors and the great team that is backing me at UMA!!! My graduation date expected to be April of 2016. I will be able to obtain my Associates Degree in just 6 more months following that in or around Summer of 2016. I plan to make the very best out of this experience. I am taking in every single class, and making this my priority... This is a step I have taken in my life that I know will not only pay off, but will continue stepping ahead!! I am a proud student of UMA Clearwater Online courses!!!
I'm 70 years old and decided to go back to school to earn a degree in the medical field.
I wanted to go back to school but sometimes things come up that change the course. Now I think it's time to change my life. Going back to school is scary and exciting all at the same time. I am still trying to work through the computer stuff. It just takes time i guess. UMA has great people to support you but you need to do your best also. Learning can be fun, and making more money can happen with a better education.
It takes a lot of effort to go to school. I started off taking just the Medical Billing course online and I just got done finishing my associate degree. The staff is wonderful and such a great help. The staff for job employment is so helpful, she reaches out to you when there's a job opening. I hear a lot of people bad mouthing UMA about not having them help them find a job. They assist in helping but only you can get it. As I'm looking for job employment I see the big difference from being certified and just having a diploma. So next week I'm signing up to get my pre-testing done to get certified. I love UMA for helping me get through school. I went through so much last year because I lost my dad to cancer and even with the struggle of trying to focus, and having kids and a full time job, I still managed to finish. Don't give up people, your dream can be made possible. Thank you UMA for giving me positive vibes and great staff to push me through the end.
I really enjoyed this school. I was hesitant about going back to school again because I thought I would not have the time and it turned out to be great. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable whenever I needed any assistance. I always recommend this school to everybody who sparks an interest in furthering their education.
I did some research on different schools and UMA was the best because all they teach is in the Medical field. I graduated with an Associate Degree in Medical Billing and Coding. I was very excited about going to UMA, everyone at UMA was so awesome and I wished I could have stayed at UMA but am going to a sister school to UMA. As a student with UMA, it was educational, fun, enjoyable, challenging at times, the best 18 months of my life, I actually enjoyed going to school for once. I would tell anyone considering to go to any college that UMA is the best school and they would really enjoy it there and the staff. I quit school in 1978 and 1 day shy of 24 years I got my GED, I got my CNA when both my parents got real sick in 2005, and now that I have graduated school it is a big accomplishment for me and one I am very proud of, in 2 weeks I start working on my Bachelors.
I really love this school. I have two more classes left, this one and one more. I can't wait until graduation day. I really like the instructors they are really helpful. The reason I decided to go to UMA is to further my interest in the medical field. I would tell anyone that is wanting to go to UMA that they should really consider it and check it out because it is a great school to attend.
Ultimate Medical Academy allows us to start a new career in our life. We are challenged, encouraged, motivated, as well as coached in our process in learning.
I have found a great deal of support from UMA ONLINE. They are a wonderful, knowledgeable group of of professionals, who adopt you as one of their own. You will find yourself feeling wanted and comforted in your time of need. I am so very proud to be a part of this team as a student. I made an excellent choice!!
I am very glad I chose UMA for my education. I received my diploma in medical billing and coding in October and now I'm working toward my associate degree in my field. I have recommended UMA to several people that have asked me about my education. In my opinion it is a great school, I am so proud of myself and very glad I chose UMA for my educational goals.
Choosing UMA online classes was the best decision I could have made. The teachers and student advisors have been beside me from the start. I have received a 4.5 GPA every semester so far and just made the Dean's List.
I decided to go back to school online. I take care of my mom who has alzheimers dementia. I am disabled with degenerative disk disease, fibormyalgia, and sciatica. So the jobs I can do are slim to none. I am 41 and a mother of three (last one just graduated). I also was blessed with a grandson and another grandchild on the way. So as you can tell my life is busy but in all this I needed something to look forward to for me. I love my children and grandchildren but I needed to do something for me. I want to get back into the working world. And this program is going to help me do it. It is available when I have the time and an open schedule. My children and son in law have since considered following my example and are trying to better themselves. The timing and scheduling work for me and my life. I have recommended this school several times. I would have done it earlier if I had known about it. My inspiration is my family.
My experience at UMA has been everything I expected and so much more! I enjoy the family-like vibe and value the relationships I have with not only my teachers but my fellow classmates as well. You can really tell they want to see you do well and do everything in their power for you to reach your full potential.
Everything was perfect. The recruiters were friendly and helpful! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING.
I've been in my online course for months now and everything has been going so well. All of the staff that I've met are so nice and they really care about our success in life. There are so many opportunity at UMA, you will love it. When I first started I was kinda of scared and thought that everything was going be hard but it's not. I work at my own pace and time and get the work done before the due date. I'm really thinking about taking another course after I complete this one. UMA is a great school.
Every since I started here it's been a great experience. Thank you all for everything.
In the time that I have been attending UMA, everybody has been there cheering me on too be the best. My advisor has been there every step of the way. I have learned so many new and exciting things from UMA and I would recommend the school to every person I come in contact with. Just remember you are what you become, think of your life as a painting, try out all the colors of knowledge to make it a masterpiece. UMA is here to help you do that.
[It's] a good school.
I was in a tragic car accident in January of 2015 and it nearly killed me. I chose to attend UMA because throughout the time I was hospitalized I went through therapy and had to reteach myself how to do everything all over again. I taught myself to walk again and also how to bathe myself again. It inspired me to pursue a career in the healthcare field because of my personal experiences. Also I have a older sister who is in a wheelchair and I also had an older brother who had a mental illness.
I can't praise the dedication of UMA enough for their efforts to ensure the success of their students. From the beginning, I was given support and vital information from a number of departments that would set the pace for the smoothest transition possible back into college and my future career field. The life-skills required for their students to succeed in this new career is emphasized, and the Career Services Department is absolutely determined to do everything possible to place you in a new job that fits. I give the Ultimate Medical Academy and "A++" in healthcare education and would recommend enrolling here to anyone. I am very thankful for the tools and training I received from UMA.
I think that this was the most important decision that I've ever made in my entire life that I am proud of.
I have gone to college before and I have never experienced anything like UMA. I have never had so much support in my corner before. I just graduated from the Diploma program as a Pharmacy Tech, and I wanted to go further so I decided to go with my Associate in Pharmacy Tech. UMA helped me to get credits to transfer and now I will be done in two months. I would highly recommend UMA to anyone who is looking to better their life! Thank you UMA for everything you have done for me!” Danielle Richey Pharmacy Tech.
I have taken many online classes; but taking online classes at UMA has been really successful for me. You just have to stay motivated and keep in contact with your adviser as well as your class instructor. I am currently on the Dean's List and I am very proud because I have never had such an accomplishment. Thank you UMA for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime.
I had gone to college before enrolling in UMA and did not do so well. I ended up pregnant with my fourth child so I decided to do online instead and with all the help I got from the advisors and instructors I made it through and even made the Dean's list. I graduated with High Honors with my Associates degree in Medical Science as a Medical Administrative Assistant. I would highly recommend this college for anyone and it goes by so fast!
Life wasn't always an easy thing for me, but I conquered it no matter what the circumstances were. Having my son at 16 had everyone doubting my future, but I've never questioned the plan God had for my life. This life story of mine consists of so much detail that I'm unable to put it all into this review. (Book coming soon) Firstly, my first time entering college; I had given up within two months time. Thinking in my mind that school might have not been for me. The crazy thing is that I'd had enough faith to finish my GED test on my first try and to doubt myself on college was my total mistake. Before joining UMA, I truly was trying to find my way in life and what I wanted to do and what I wanted to be. It's been tough for me with two kids, everyday life issues, no support system, etc. It’s a lot to take on all at once. Now, I'm two months into finishing my associate degree, and proud of myself. Achieving the Dean's list twice (excitement), as well as sticking in there and finishing, UMA gave me hope to never give up, and to believe in myself no matter who's with me. So if you’re ever feeling like there's no hope, believe there is great hope, all within huge FAITH. Take it from a high school dropout and early mother who'd never thought she'd make it this far.
I have been in classes for 6 months now. I started out pumped and ready, with a large support team behind me telling me I was going to go the extra mile and was very determined to make this happen. When I found out I was accepted I was THRILLED! I firmly enjoy being able to go to classes comfortably and in my own bubble. I love every aspect of UMA, down to staff and instructors. My advice for new students: Be the best you can be. Find your zone, be it a quiet room, the coffee shop, or a room with music. Get comfortable; 99% of students can bring more to the table if they are wearing comfortable clothing! Follow your roadmap and anything that is made available from your instructors, USE IT!! They give test prep that will guide you through what you need to DOUBLE LOOK at for the tests! Don't be afraid to call your instructor, they are there to help you get the best from what you need to learn. I advise joining in on as many chances to get face to face on camera with your instructors as they have so much to offer you if you take the time to do it; if you can't set a day and time with your instructor for one on one! YOUR ADVISER is your best friend. They are your lifeline and aid through school. If anything, whatever it is, comes up tell them, talk to them, if you have doubts and feel like quitting please don't this is the best school and the best place to find a friend. Take time to talk with classmates! These are the people you will graduate beside so I highly encourage you to try to make at least one friend!
My name is Tammy, I am 54 years old and a graduate of Ultimate Medical Academy. I graduated April 26, 2014 with an AS Degree in Medical Coding and Billing. I am very proud of my education and the help I received from the staff at UMA. I was a factory worker for 25 years and was at a dead end in my career when I decided to go to college. At first I was skeptical and not sure it was what I wanted to do. With the help and motivation of the staff at UMA, I was able to obtain my goals and my degree. After graduation, UMA staff worked VERY diligently to help me find that was suited to education and knowledge. Today, 9 months after graduation, I am a Managed Care Coordinator for a Chiropractic facility here in Florida. I recently received an awesome promotion AND pay increase for my efforts.
I just wanted to let new graduates know, that no matter what your age, going back to school is NEVER the wrong thing to do. Don't give up on your dreams or desires. If you work hard enough, and with the help of the UMA staff, the sky is the limit.
My entire family is very proud of my accomplishments. I have been told by many of them and a lot of friends that I am an inspiration to them because of education. I don't like being put on a pedestal. My point is you never know whose life you will change with the choices you make.
GO UMA! THANK YOU for the changes in my life
I had never taken any college courses before UMA. I worked for 12 years at the same company and when it was bought out I found myself unemployed. I decided that I wanted a change. Deciding to go back to school was a hard decision for me but I am so happy that I got accepted into UMA. Being able to set your own schedule while taking online courses is great! I love that I can log in at any time. I love that it gives me the freedom to spend time with my kids and my husband. The staff is extremely helpful and they go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable with the courses and are not having any issues. I would recommend UMA to anyone who wants to get a career in the medical field.
I have taken UMA courses in Medical Billing & Coding and am now going to graduate on November 16, 2014 with my A.S. in Medical Billing & Coding. I have no regrets about UMA or my education. UMA has assisted in my drive and determination to succeed, not only in obtaining my education, but also in securing a job in my specialized field. With the support of the UMA faculty I have been able to reach for the stars and hang with them. I have not finished yet though because I plan on achieving my A.S. in Healthcare Management with UMA. I truly thought that I was too old to go back to school, but I realize that you are never too old to learn new skills and be a success. THANK YOU TO EVERY FACULTY MEMBER OF UMA FOR YOUR BELIEF IN ME AND THE ENCOURAGEMENT THAT YOU ALL HAVE GIVEN TO SHOW ME THAT I CAN BE A SUCCESS!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!
I have been going to UMA for over a year now and only have four classes left. This is my first online college experience and I must say it has been a joyous one. I love this school because it gives me that confidence to say, "Yes I can," and actually do it and believe it. I have been on Honor Roll the whole time and I've made the Dean’s List. For me that’s a great accomplishment, especially because I’m a mother of three little ones. I strongly encourage anybody of any age or ethnicity to just give them a shot because you won't regret it. This school definitely understand work/school/life balance and that's what makes them AWESOME! P.S. I have referred five other people to this school. One has finished and they all love it.
I have been attending UMA for two months and so far I am really enjoying school for the first time since high school. Unlike others I am a single mother of four and I thought that it was going to be a difficult task to accomplish but with the motivation and help from the advisors they make the classes at UMA great. I say to all the new UMA students, if I can do it, you can do it. I am on my way to success!
I'm very excited about furthering my education with UMA! I'm in my second class and in two weeks I will be on to my third. I'm sticking to my 4.0 GPA all the way to the top. Knowing a brighter future is just around the corner motivates me to strive harder for my children and for myself.
I am new here but I feel like I am with family members. I felt welcome since the first day I started! It’s been wonderful. I have found everything that I need to succeed: People that really care about me and my career. You are making possible my dream of going back to college and enjoy it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'm very excited about furthering my education with UMA! I'm in my second class and in two weeks I will be on to my third. I'm sticking to my 4.0 GPA all the way to the top. Knowing a brighter future is just around the corner motivates me to strive harder for my children and for myself.
Just like many of my fellow new peers when I first started UMA I was very nervous even though I had previously attended another school online. I thought that this would be another environment like the one which I graduated from which was difficult with little to no communication from instructors. It just so happened that I was very wrong about UMA. I must say to everyone that is new to UMA that this is the most supportive, simple, and lifestyle oriented school. My biggest advice is that if any of you have any questions never hesitate to call your advisor or teachers. They are there to help you in any way they possibly can and help with many situations. If you feel like you can't do it, they will do what it takes to remind you in every way that you can! I am 20 years old and I have a two year old son. I knew within myself that I wanted to succeed not only for me, but to give my child a good example to follow. That way, he knows to never give up no matter how hard your situations are because your rewards and possibilities are endless. With a support team like UMA's we can all achieve success!
I started online courses about four months ago. I will admit I was nervous going in because I hadn’t attended school since I was in high school. Everyone with UMA is super nice and very supportive throughout the whole entire course! Studying tips would be to study in a quiet place and if you something is important then write it down! I also highlight key information in my textbooks so I can refresh my memory before taking a test! I am so thankful I decided to fulfill my dream of attending college at UMA. Best decision I have made for my family!!!
I have been with UMA for months, needless to say that I love working online at my own pace. The school is great and the staff is brilliant. I will definitely be continuing my education with this school in the near future. I would gladly recommend anyone that is looking to work in the healthcare field do give this school a shot. It is well worth it!! I'm proud to be a UMA student!!
I have been with UMA for three months now and I love the school. When I first started I was very nervous but I kept telling myself that I could do this and now I am doing better than I thought I would do. I am a mother of three and working in the medical field is something that I always wanted to do. Attending UMA was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. The staff and school are wonderful in every way. They are there for you whenever you need assistance.
I have earned three different diplomas from this school. The first one was for the Medical Administrative Assistant Diploma the second was Associates for Medical Administrative Assistant . The third I just received was for Associates in Health Care Management. I would recommend to anybody that wants to go to college to call this place because all of the teachers and the rest of the staff at UMA are great and willing to help out in any way possible. All I have for this school are high praises for everyone there and I wish them all the best and thank them very much. May God bless them all. I also got a certificate for the Honor Roll and a certificate of Achievement. P.S by the way I am 53 years old and haven't been in school since 1979.
When I got the news that I was accepted into the academy my eyes filled with happy tears. I couldn’t believe this was real. I am a mother of two children and it gets rough sometimes but I learned that this was on my own time and that helped a lot. I'm 22 years old and have already been married and divorced. You all are the reason I can fix my future for my kids and myself.
I have to admit that when I first started the online classes at UMA, I was nervous since it had been about 13 years since I graduated from high school and I have four kids to take care of. When I started, and even before I enrolled, my academic coaches were amazing and they encouraged me, called me, and emailed me just to see if I had any questions. The instructors are also amazing and understanding. They will help you in any way that they can, which I feel is great. Another great thing about UMA is that they have programs available to help you, whether it's one on one with your instructor or with academic coaches that are available to help you understand more about math, essays and APA formatting, plagiarism or Microsoft Excel. I love the set up that UMA offers. To me, online classes are the way to go because this allows me to be able to achieve my goals by allowing me to set my own schedule. With all the encouragement and support that UMA offers, this helps me to be able to stay focused, determined, and encouraged. If you have any problems all you have to do is ask and someone will be there to help.
I love going to school online at UMA. I graduated from the Medical Coding and Billing classes on May 25, 2014. My study buddy gave me a wonderful graduation gift that I will treasure forever. It is an engraved graduation hat with a tassel with my name and my school on it representing 2014. I am so proud of my graduating class especially the ones that graduated on the Dean’s List along with myself. I love you guys and congratulations once again! New students keep your mind on graduating, study all the time, and submit your work way before it’s due and you will have awesome results if you follow this school recipe!
Hi everyone! It's a GREAT day at UMA! My name is Bobbi M. My advice to you concerning online schooling with UMA is to DO IT! I started this journey for the first time in MBC as I used to work in health insurance for United Health Care and entered EOB (Explanation of Benefits). However, a bunch of things happened to me that overwhelmed me to where I backed out and gave up, making me feel like I again let myself, my kids, my parents and everyone else down. UMA called me concerned and really wanted to see me reach my goals. They talked with me and we found the right fit for me. I love it and I have great instructors, a great advisor, and they are always helpful as I have had a lot of set-backs health wise, with my parents and my children. I have nothing but absolutely GREAT things to say about UMA’s online schooling. I am older and it took me awhile to catch on to how to follow the curriculum online rather than just “text-book" form, but I got it and like I said there is always someone there to help. So go for it! Any age, any circumstance, YOU CAN DO IT! 🙂 If I can do it, anyone can!
There are many people in this world who cannot afford an education, and I was one of them. I always knew there was more to me than working in construction for 25 years. I raised three children as a single parent and decided that I owed myself a college education, so here I am. UMA was a positive decision. I also have and will continue to recruit new students.
I was contacted on a day when I had given up on all options. The representative made it very simple to apply and guided me through the steps. What was also amazing was the follow up calls from the Financial Advisors, Learners Services and all the other departments. They made my transition that much easier and were always there when I needed information. I would definitely recommend UMA to anyone! I started my journey in February 2014 and it has been terrific so far!
I enrolled at UMA online in October, 2012. I started out in the Medical Office Billing Diploma Program and now, February 9, 2014, I have an Associate Degree in Medical Office and Billing. I am now an NHA Certified Billing and Coding Specialist. I would like to thank everyone at UMA who supported me on my road to success. If you stay motivated, determined, and have a great support team anything is possible. Once again I would like to thank everyone at UMA for their support. Never give up on your dreams!
I thought going back to school at my age was going to be a difficult task and many times I felt frustrated at trying to do classwork, assignments, and work as a private caregiver on 24 hour shifts. Having the advisors at UMA encouraging me was a great help. The advisors and instructors were very helpful and offered assistance of every kind. After getting my diploma, I found a lack of jobs for inexperienced Pharma Techs in the job market to be another obstacle to overcome, so I graduated with my A.S. and still had problems in obtaining employment. However, the Career Advisors in the Interview Dress for Success Dept. worked extremely hard and never gave up to help me gain employment doing what I love doing today. So no matter what age you are it's never too late to get ahead especially with the support of your family and friends and the outstanding help from UMA. When it comes to describing how I feel about UMA the only words are "UMA is so AWESOME"!
I must admit that I was scared at first. I was afraid that I was not going to afford school or even be accepted, but with UMA they promised me that everything was going to be okay. My advisor has been such a big help in helping me enroll in classes in my field. I will start in a week in the Medical Administrative Assistant Degree courses. I will be on my way to earning my Associates Degree. Never in my life did I see myself here. Seeing everyone’s positive statements just makes me feel like a part of something.
I was a single mom of two who just moved to Tampa from New Jersey when I first enrolled to UMA. I graduated in November, 2010 as a Certified Patient Care Tech and, because of my certification, I was able to receive a job at a non-profit clinic and work with a private doctor. I was able to take my experience back to New Jersey. Throughout the years I’ve had advisors call me and email me just to make sure I was still working and if I needed anything from UMA in order to enhance my education and life. I now work as a Recruiter in the Healthcare Industry and, because of UMA staff and my experience, I was able to get a higher paying job making $40,000 a year and now I want to enroll in online classes to achieve more. Thank you to all of the staff and for all the support. You have never forgotten me and I am thankful for all you done UMA!
I had worked for a big corporation for twenty years in accounting and it had down sized. For three years I hadn't done anything. UMA had given me a call and said they could do something to help me. They have helped me with financing, tutoring, support systems, and they have been there for support through my education. I have made it through my certification waiting to take my state board testing. I am planning to finish getting my associate degree next year here at UMA. I feel that I have accomplished my goals and my bucket list. Ultimate Medical Academy I would like to thank you for being there for me.
The last time I was in school was 30 years ago. I had a promising career with retirement benefits with the US Postal Service. When I was terminated from there, I was forced to get a minimum wage job but I wanted to do something different with my life. The only way for me to improve my life and also help others was to go back to school. Learning in a classroom environment would cause an inconvenience for the things I wanted to accomplish. Therefore, I decided to try online classes. I can pretty much set my own hours to complete my assignments and discussions with deadlines. I do my school work in the morning while everyone is still sleeping with complete concentration and silence. I wanted to attend school to broaden my knowledge and skills to get another promising career with room for advancement and further my educational knowledge.
This my a first for me making a big step of going to college after 13 years. After having kid's I never think i would be here. I'm a CNA at a nursing home I'm just thankful for this chance to better myself.
I just had graduated from computer Engineering and had applied for every position that was open with no results so I decided that I needed to go back to school so I choose UMA. was told by co-workers and friends that it is a great school so I searched their programs and I saw they had billing and coding associate degree just what I wanted and this was in August 2014 its 2015 and I only have 5 classes left. Thank you Ultimate Medical Academy.
Attending UMA is and was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. I will recommend this school to my friends and family. I will graduate on June 28, 2015, and am considering getting my associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding with this school. This was my first attempt at college. Let me just explain I was scared and I had many questions in my mind as well as doubts, not just about me but about the financial part as well. In the end I knew that UMA would help me through all my questions and doubts that infested my mind. Here I sit nearing the end of my classes, and I have so many to thank for it. From admissions rep to Academic coaches. Especially my family! I am confident in UMA and plan on furthering my education later with them. They have helped me understand and be confident in the financial end and School work wise. I have never been so excited about learning! Literally! I am a single mom to an infant as well a homemaker. I believe anyone and everyone has what it takes to succeed in the programs if you truly believe and set your mind to it! I recommend this school to anyone!
I like to share my story that anything is possible when you dedicate yourself and set your mind to it. I had a spinal injury that left me paralyzed and told I would never walk again, depression set in and I was devastated. I had to learn occupational and physical therapy. I went online to research my injury and I saw a brochure to Ultimate Medical Academy I read all the info. and I was hooked I set out to find out why me and instead I found myself. I excelled I made the Dean"s list with a 4.0 GPA and I am graduating in August with the satisfaction and self worth that a sense of accomplishment can do for you. If I can do it so can you!!
