Ultimate Medical Academy Hosts Second Virtual Graduation Ceremony for Students in Online Healthcare Associate and Diploma Programs

TAMPA, Fla., September 18, 2012 – Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) recently hosted its second virtual graduation ceremony for students of its online healthcare associate and diploma programs. The event, which has become an increasingly popular alternative to traditional graduation proceedings for the Florida-based healthcare school, was held Saturday, September 15, 2012. Hundreds of graduates, guests, and UMA faculty and staff attended the online commencement.

All graduates were invited to walk in UMA’s Fall commencement ceremony, which was held at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa on September 8, 2012. Those who were unable to attend the physical graduation ceremony had the option to participate in the online commencement and were encouraged to invite family and friends to join them for the event.

“UMA continues its leadership position in online healthcare associate and diploma programs that serve students from across the state and around the country,” remarked Steven Kemler, UMA’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our continued investment in technology for collaboration, student support and learning management increase accessibility and the success of our students as they pursue degrees and certifications. With students from all 50 states and three US territories in this season’s graduating class, UMA truly demonstrates the value of its education brand, which we feel is recognized for its accessibility, market demand and ability to change lives.”

The interactive ceremony included a video presentation and keynote address. During the ceremony, the name of each graduate was displayed on screen, prompting fellow students guests, and UMA faculty and staff to extend congratulations and well wishes to the new graduates.

The ceremony was punctuated by moving testimony of graduates who overcame incredible odds and who availed themselves of the flexibility and powerful learning tools provided by UMA to complete their certificate and degree programs and achieve lifelong goals. These sentiments were echoed in the keynote address.

“When you walk with purpose you collide with destiny,” remarked Dr. Bertice Berry, keynote speaker for the online graduation ceremony, celebrated author, lecturer and educator as she addressed the graduating class. Dr. Berry continued, “As healthcare providers you are a position to change the world. When you take time to think, to learn and to apply the lessons of your education, you improve yourself, your family, your community and the world we live in.”
