K-20 Education Summit a Success; Second Annual K-20 Summit Scheduled for 2019

April 19, 2017, Tampa, Fla. – Survey results from Ultimate Medical Academy’s inaugural K-20 Education Summit (#UMAK20) attended by 300 education leaders in Tampa last month confirm it was a resounding success in exploring the theme, “all means ALL.” This included sharing best practices to facilitate equality, advocacy and progress in education.

The K-20 Summit featured a lineup of thought leaders among the driving forces for innovation in online and blended learning from public four-year universities, community colleges, private two-year colleges, traditional K-12, online K-12, charter schools, and community organizations. They discussed their unique approaches to support students to and through higher education and into the workforce, including ideas for partnerships across sectors.

A survey participant said, “Partnerships built between K-12 and 13-20 are vital ‘to and through’ – this work should continue and additional relationships should be built to increase early intervention.”

Another survey participant said, “The extremely bold decision to include all sectors of higher education in this event paid huge dividends. I believe this proactive model of reaching out to the public sector to inviting them in to take a peek under the hood is about the most innovative and impressive effort I’ve seen from anyone in the private sector in many, many years.

“Kudos to UMA leadership,” the participant added. “There is more opportunity in this approach than anyone ever imagined, and UMA is uniquely qualified to make the most of it.”

A nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence, UMA is headquartered in Tampa and offers content-rich, interactive online courses to approximately 14,000 students as well as face-to-face training to hundreds of students at its Clearwater, Florida campus. The UMA experience includes student services and support throughout all phases of the student journey.
