Staff Show Their Silly and Giving Side at Red Nose Day

May 25, 2017, Tampa, Fla. – There’s not anything much sillier than adults wearing red noses around the office. Ultimate Medical Academy is doing just that to raise awareness and join together to support Red Nose Day and help end child poverty. Staff at the school’s three locations in Tampa Bay are raising funds through various initiatives all while having fun, being silly, by wearing their red noses today in support of this event.

Red Nose Day is an opportunity for everyone to show their silly side to raise funds and help change the lives of kids who need it most in the U.S. and around the world. This week, Ultimate Medical Academy staff purchased red noses and red wristbands to wear today, with proceeds benefitting Red Nose Day, a campaign of the nonprofit Comic Relief Inc.

“This is just one example of how our staff embodies Ultimate Medical Academy’s spirit of giving and contributing to a meaningful cause,” said Dan Soschin, the leader overseeing philanthropic initiatives at Ultimate Medical Academy. “While we’re serious about preparing our students for meaningful careers in healthcare, taking a moment to add a little levity to the workplace to raise awareness and funds for ending child hunger is a great change of pace.”

The goal of Red Nose Day is to end child poverty, one nose at a time. Comic Relief wants every child to be healthy, safe, educated and empowered for the future. Red Nose Day has raised more than $1 billion globally. Since 2015, Red Nose Day in America has raised more than $60 million.

Ultimate Medical Academy also helps battle student hunger in the Tampa Bay area through a program called “Pack-A-Snack,” a community outreach program between Pinellas County schools, local businesses, nonprofit organizations and churches. During the last few years, approximately 150 Ultimate Medical Academy volunteers have packed more than 20,000 snacks for local school children to take home each weekend.
