UMA Staff Volunteer at Gala to Help Send 600 Children to MOSI Summer Camp

UMA staff recently came together for the children on May 1 at MOSI’s Give Change to Make Change Children’s Gala. The volunteers served drinks and food, poured chocolate milk for toasts and helped with the photo booth. They also had a fun time interacting with the children in attendance, supporting this wonderful initiative.

The annual event raises money for scholarships to send 600 youth to the Summer Science Camp at MOSI. The event also encourages children to get involved with philanthropy by providing more than 2,000 piggy banks to local children, who raise money for the scholarships over a three-month period. The Summer Science Camp introduces children to the magic of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) through exciting, hands-on activities.

“It was a great evening filled with adorable kids learning how they can give back,” said Hailey Wood, a member of the UMA volunteer team. “We were so happy to be a part of this night.”
