Hello my name is Rita A. I picked UMA in the beginning because as they introduced themselves to me, they convinced me that they would be by my side all the way. Now being that I had not been in school in many years I was so afraid of feeling inadequate, but they reassured me that no one would make me feel that way. And as days turned in to weeks and weeks turned in to months, I was finally feeling a part of a team. UMA stood by their word. Every time I felt a breakdown coming on because I was confused or overwhelmed by a course, or test, or an assignment, I would simply call my advisor (Danielle) and she would walk me through my storm. UMA should feel proud to have such a person. But these are two reasons why I picked UMA, a facility and a person’s word is very important to me. And YES! I am so happy I decided to stay with UMA, just look at me now, a 2017 Graduate of UMA in Healthcare Management, and I could not have done it without ALL of my peers. It was very exciting to be able to converse with peers all over the word, to be able to view different opinions in discussions, and not really realizing what a small world we live in, so far but yet so close. What I would tell people about UMA would be: if ever you have any doubt about a school having your back and always being there for you, well UMA is the school for you! Till the end.’ Here I am 58 years old, caretaker to both of my parents and husband after his stroke, and administering my mothers dialysis every night while going to school. I DID IT!!! If I can do it as busy as I am, anyone can do it! With the help of my peers and with the motivation they gave me, and the perseverance I gained everyday, I finally DID IT! SO CAN YOU!! Forever indebted to UMA for giving me this chance… Rita A.
