Staff Will Get Moving at Walk to Cure Arthritis

May 5, 2017, Tampa, Fla. – Ultimate Medical Academy is joining in the cause to conquer arthritis by participating in and sponsoring the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk to Cure Arthritis on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Tampa. This nationwide signature event for the Arthritis Foundation aims to raise money to find a cure for arthritis with an annual 5K walk in Tampa and 49 other communities across the nation.

This year, Ultimate Medical Academy pledged a $2,500 sponsorship for the event at Al Lopez Park, 4810 Himes Ave. Ultimate Medical Academy is encouraging all staff to donate to this worthy cause and join the Ultimate Medical Academy team walking that day.

“The Walk to Cure Arthritis is a very family friendly event with food, drinks, entertainment, kid’s zone, dog friendly and many more activities throughout the morning,” Kate Sanstrom, development manager for the Arthritis Foundation, said. “We are very excited for Ultimate Medical Academy to be taking part in our walk this year and we thank you for your support in helping us come together and conquer arthritis!”

Since it began in the 1990s, the Walk to Cure Arthritis has raised more than $100 million. More than 50 million Americans and 300,000 children are affected with arthritis, which is the number one cause of disability in the United States.

“Ultimate Medical Academy staff and faculty love getting out into our community with their friends and families to support great organizations like the Arthritis Foundation,” said Dan Soschin, the leader overseeing philanthropic initiatives at Ultimate Medical Academy. “Helping to raise awareness about health and wellness issues aligns well with our mission of empowering students to make a positive impact on their patients throughout all stages of the healthcare community.”
