Two Locations Adopted by Ultimate Medical Academy to Help Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful

May 24, 2017, Tampa, Fla.– As part of the Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful Adopt-A-Spot program, Ultimate Medical Academy has adopted two locations to help keep Tampa trash-free. Ultimate Medical Academy employees will clean and maintain the bus stop closest to the nonprofit higher education institution on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. as well as Cheney Park in the Sulphur Springs area of Tampa.

“Organizations like Ultimate Medical Academy that take part in our Adopt-A-Spot program, make a huge impact by broadening the awareness of the negative effects litter has on our environment,” said, Debbie Evenson, executive director of  Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful. “We are so grateful for the support of our volunteers, partners and sponsors. Their efforts have helped us remove more than 600,000 pounds of trash and debris, plant more than 3,000 trees and host more than 900 community improvement events.”

Ultimate Medical Academy staff will participate in at least four cleanups a year at each location, helping the environment and community by maintaining and improving the adopted sites. The first are scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 at Cheney Park and from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at the bus stop.

“Our latest philanthropy project highlights our continued commitment to improving the communities in which are staff live and work,” said Dan Soschin, the leader overseeing philanthropic initiatives at Ultimate Medical Academy. “By participating in Adopt-A-Spot, our staff are committed to leading by example through environmental stewardship and good citizenry.”

This program allows volunteers to make a direct impact on the quality of life in the local community. Adopt-A-Spot provides environmental awareness, stewardship and encourages individuals to take a proactive approach to environmental concerns.

Ultimate Medical Academy’s involvement with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is one of the many service projects and outreach initiatives the school participates in each year.
