Ultimate Medical Academy to Host Food and Toy Drive on UMA Tampa Campus

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 5, 2011 — To help Tampa Bay families in need this holiday season, Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) and radio station 93.3 FLZ will be hosting a food and toy drive at the UMA Tampa campus on Wednesday, December 7, from 1 to 3 pm. The public is invited to join UMA students, faculty and staff in donating “Food and Toys for Girls and Boys”; and everyone who donates will be entered to win one of 12 pairs of tickets to 93.3 FLZ’s Jingle Ball 2011, which will take place on December 11 at the St. Pete Times Forum.

93.3 FLZ will be broadcasting live from the UMA Tampa campus, and attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy giveaways, food and drinks. Participants are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy or non-perishable food item to help fill the donation bins. All items collected will be given to Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, which is dedicated to improving the lives of foster children and foster families throughout the local area.

During UMA’s food and toy drive, a raffle will be held to award a dozen pairs of tickets to 93.3 FLZ’s annual Jingle Ball event. Some of today’s most popular acts will be performing, along with several exciting newcomers. Featured artists include Cobra Starship, Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Big Time Rush, The Script, David Guetta and Pitbull, with special appearances by Karmin and Outasight.

In addition, for campus visitors interested in learning more about UMA’s wide range of healthcare training and degree programs, UMA will have counselors on hand to answer questions and provide campus tours.

“Ultimate Medical Academy has a reputation for giving back to the local community. Because our school focuses exclusively on healthcare training and education, our students tend to be the type of people who care about helping others,” said Silvina Lamoureux, Campus Director of UMA Tampa. “I hope other members of the community will join us in supporting Kids Charity of Tampa Bay. Through our ‘Food and Toys for Girls and Boys’ charity drive, we can all help give local foster children a happier holiday.”

The UMA Tampa campus is located at 9309 N. Florida Ave., Suite 100, at the corner of Busch Blvd. and is conveniently located off of I-275 at Exit 50. UMA provides education and certification training for allied health careers at its Tampa and Clearwater campuses, and also offers a range of online healthcare degree and diploma programs.
