Working full time and completing a degree can be challenging. Are you thinking about going back to school but concerned you will not have time to study and finish your course work? Here are a few tips for finding study time even when you're busy.
- Opt for public transportation instead of driving to work. For example, if your commute is 30 minutes you can get one hour of reading completed each day. Additionally, the money you save on gas will be an added bonus.
- Do you regularly work 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and battle rush hour traffic each way? Try going into work an hour earlier or staying an hour late and get some reading done during that time. You will beat rush hour and add an extra hour of study time.
- Avoid those late nights; instead get up an hour early. You are fresher in the morning and will retain the information better. This will allow you to avoid the evening “crash” when you are tired from a long day.
Waiting rooms, soccer practice with your kids, the laundromat . . . all are good places to squeeze in a chapter or two. Those two or three hours a day that you need to finish your degree is easier to find than you ever thought.
